Not one punch KO power but IF he pops you with a flush shot then you'll be looking for that damn bee.
I just got to guessin cuz I was thinkin it took him an awful lotta rounds to knock out Hatton...compared to Pac of course. So.... Was he just holdin out? I don't know..... It's hard to tell.
I know that someone has got to be a damn Floyd expert. We got a million of ya'll here... so hit this thread up.... as I think the Pac win puts this into perspective... Right????
Floyd spent quite a few rounds shelling up on the ropes and taking his time for a counter shot. It's not his style to go for quickie KOs. It's like a tortoise and the hare. Both will get there just in their own ways.
He has respectible power but not KO you with one shot power. Like I said, it'll be like a damn bee sting.
In what way? Speed in how they went about their work or pure speed in general? Floyd is plenty fast. If Floyd wanted to go for a quickie KO, He would've. It's just not how he operates. I don't think Floyd had light tower power but he has pure speed which can create more power. I'd say he's very underrated in the power depot.
You think that will be a factor against Pac? To me, it appears Pac can get rattled by a big punch... Maybe I'm wrong though...
Floyd does not put power into his shots all the time like say a Pacman. Pacman has turned into a guy that punches hard with everything. Floyd is patient fighter kind of like Bhop. They dont have that animal in them. They think too much. Pacman thinks fast and just gets warmed up quicker than any fighter I ever seen besides somebody like Pryor. Pacman starts off hot from round 1, most fighters have to get in a groove. Plus Floyd analyzes the guy he is fighting he feels them out.
I think he could punch harder if he wanted to. What I mean is he doesn't ever load up because he's always thinking defense first. A lot of his knockouts at lower weights that he got wasn't from his power but his left hook to the body that he doesn't use as often now. So all in all I would say he's not a great puncher but he's very fast so you can't see it coming and when he hits you, it's usually because your off balance so that plays a role too.
There's a difference though...guys like Floyd don't EVER want to take a risk unless they're absolutely postively superly duperly sure they won't get hit. The opening can be there but as Naziim Richardson once said about Hopkins "He's already thinking up the next counter attempt and he misses it." Thinking fighters tend to overanalyze when the opportunity is there.
