How do you rate Froch's chances of beating Kessler?

I'd always thought that Froch was made to order for Kessler and said Mikkel would beat Frochy when this tourney was announced based on Kessler being more technically sound, his jab controlling and measuring Carl, the fact that Kessler would not be forced to fight in the pocket and countered with 6 inch punches or shown every possible angle in the sweet science pumphlet ala Calzaghe and Ward. but I've changed my pick since.

I give Frochy a very good chance of winning this fight. Kessler looked like a mummy laboring through quicksand when he fought the bum of the month, confidence builder after losing to JC. Take the cut he suffered in the Ward fight and that he's fighting a tall stalker with effective aggression, insanely tough and determined, who is a underrated boxer puncher and can step on the gas...this might be the easiest +140 odds ever seen for Frochy. I just think Kessler is very fragile at this point, granted Froch will not be hard to find and won't present the same problems as Ward did who beats Kessler everyday of the week, but Carl has alotta upside mentally and the Danish Muffin's technical advantages are not as much of a factor at this stage of their respective careers IMO.

I see this as being a possible shootout and the intangibles Frochy brings being the deciding factor, I see both eating alotta big shots, neither will be difficult to pursue with their stationary heads ripe for massive over hand rights/crosses and uppercuts, but Froch's chin, power, aggression, relative freshness and determination pull him through to a decision in a tough back and forth action fight, I could see Kessler being stopped on his feet late on as well.

I will say this though, this fight is very difficult to pick as with almost all the super six fights. If my hunch of Kessler losing all confidence and getting to that 'over the hill' stage are not true then he can take this no doubt, with his straighter punches and leverage and we can't count out some home cooking. Can't wait!

The big question will be how does Kessler come out the Ward fight ... outclassed on the evening against a brilliant boxer in Ward ! How will he come back against a fighter in Froch ? ... Im hoping Kessler is a fighter who is done at the top level and Froch will win ! but is frochs style made for kessler ? a true battle of two fighters lacking in movement around the ring ...
Im a huge Froch fan but this fight worries me ... outstanding against a warrior like Jean Pascal he stood toe to toe .. will this be a repeat of a match up against Kessler ? ... the more i think aboput this fight i think Froch will win but as far as putting big money on ... maye not ! ....

If the same Kessler that wilted against Ward turns up Froch will KO him I'm sure.

It was like he'd lost heart in the battle

Kessler seems to be taking the right steps to identify what went wrong for him last time out. Froch isn't elusive enough to avoid Kessler's jab... if Froch wins, it'll be a late rounds rally.

I think Froch CAN win it, but whether he does or not is something else. Kessler didn't look great against Ward, headbutts or not, while Froch didn't look great against Kessler.

Something tells me the Cobra pulls it out though, so I'll go in the 50-74% bracket.

Steady on, don't ruin it for the rest of us, :D we haven't seen it yet!!

Yea, people forget what Froch looked like against Dirrell, but I guess he's a very different fighter.

Really depends on Kessler for me.

If he comes into the ring anything like the fighter he was 2-3yrs ago, he probably would win. However.... have the defeats, injuries and legal wranglings have taken their toll?

Like a lot of the super 6 fights, it's coming down to intangibles.

We pretty much know what kind of fighter Froch is going to come into the ring as, we don't Kessler. It could be a very easy night for Froch if Kessler is, as I suspect, past it. However I wouldn't at all be shocked if Kessler came out and proved the doubters wrong!

Wow - if they like you I'm sure they will wait an hour or two while you watch the fight.

If they don't find you attractive enough to wait an hour.... why even bother?

My experience is that Girls can and will wait.

    * I like Froch and I want him to win, but I say about a 36% chance.

    * Think Kessler will be too clinical and Froch eat far too much.

    * The fight is in Denmark so...

I think it depends which Kessler comes to the fight. Whether he has trained hard enough or not.
