That was a robbery, we can all agree with that ? At least 90% of the people saw Holyfield winning that fight. Anyway, don´t you think is a bit impressive to think a very old Holyfield winning the WBA belt at that point ? Valuev was not good but he is just so big and he was a well ranked fighter for a good amount of time. Anyway.....what do you think of this fight ? Of this "win" ?? Think about it.
No. This was trial by internet. Almost every ringside reporter had Valuev winning. Ring (ringside) had Valuev winning. It is the difference between watching the fight on tv and watching it from where the judges are watching it. I forget the exact figure Vic, but basically 95% of ringside reporters, something like 49/52 or something, had Valuev the winner. A Swiss newspaper ran a poll. Punches going in hard from Valuev apparently did not translate.
Holyfield should have kept his workrate up if he wanted to win, he won a few of the first rounds but Valuev outlanded Holyfield later on. Both didn't really do much damage to either, Holyfield could sneak in a headbutt sometimes
Wow, didn´t know that.....well, then I guess I´ll rewatch that fight, after all I only watched once, in that day. All I can remember is Holyfield looking good using his footwork....but like I said, need to watch again......
I thought it was a robbery. Not because it was in Europe, because Holyfield won more rounds. Real **** call, I felt bad for the old guy. Beat him better than Haye did too, barring the last minute knee-trembler Haye delivered.
Never watched this fight, honestly. Heard from a guy who was ringside it wasn't a robbery at all. Makes sense, the live-broadcast disconnect is real.
I would say that Holyfield fought better than Haye did. I score this fight a draw more often than not.
I thought Holy won :conf If he had been given the nod he might've retired, having achieved what he wanted to do & become HW world champion for the 5th time. It certainly wouldve added a little to an already rich legacy. Holy a G.
