Well I would say more but I mean, you think Calzaghe's 'reign' of the fourth tier belt in Britland was superior to Hopkins undisputed rein and additional accomplishments, so my hunch is that it's pointless talking to you. Glad youre a Kessler fan though. That's something.

"Undisputed reign and accomplishments" are all very well but the most important thing is who you actually beat, and there is very little in it if we take Hopkins wins at middleweight against Calzaghe's at 168.

Either way, it ain't top 40 worthy. Not unless Calzaghe is top 60 or so, which nobody seems to believe.

Hopkins' knock out victiories over Felix Trinidad and Oscar de La Hoya alone ranks above Calzaghe's entire career.

Peak welterweights? Trinidad is by far the better win as he at least did something at 160, De La Hoya was (should have been) beaten by Felix Sturm for christ sake, as if his claims as a world class middleweight could get any weaker...

Trinidad is a good win, but the question still remains - Where is old Hops win against a top class prime middleweight? Calzaghe has that, something he doesn't which he why they should be considered close.

Not that this is related to the question, either way Hopkins shouldn't get in the top 40 on resume.

Wins over a prime undefeated Glen Johnson and Echols.

All this vastly surpasses Calzaghe wins over Kessler, Eubank & Lacy.

Do you even know where Johnson was ranked at the time? About a hundred odd. Do you know the sort of opposition he had been fighting previous to that? Prior to Hopkins, he fought Dave Hamilton (8-2). Two fights before, he fought a guy 7-15-1.

You have the nerve to call that a prime Johnson?
