I take your point, hopkins doesn't get the credit he deserves for beating the likes of trinidad, delahoya, taylor (in the first fight) :yep , and calzaghe. but when you think about it more i would say around 40-50.

Hopkins screwed himself in the first fight by waiting until the 6th round to do mount any kind of offense. He was given the opportunity to redeem himself, was too stupid to make any adjustment, did the exact same thing, and got the same results.

He doesn't get credit for beating Taylor and Calzaghe, because he didn't beat either.

I give him all the credit in the world for beating Trinidad and Delahoya, he's great against welterweights.

I am absolutely stunned that some people have Hops outside the top 100. Incidentally, do you all actually have top 100 lists?

That's absurd. There should be no set number of greats just because you're incapable of building up the energy to make a list.

I doubt any of them can name 100 truly great fighters, let alone 100 that rank above Hopkins.

Hopkins is one of the best fighters of the last quarter century. Put him in against anyone in the history of this game he'd have a chance of winning and at the very least holding his own. I don't even waste my time with that resume crap..

At the end of the day, it is what it is.

As others have said, i can't believe some people don't even have him in the top 100. My guess is that most are from England or Europe.

    I did not vote.

It's extremely difficult for me to say such and such a fighter is top 100 all-time, when there are far too many fighters I have either never seen or know far too little about.

    Impossible to say, for me.

But I will see that he is undoubtedly one of the best fighters to come around since I started following the sport.
