How do you rate Oscar De La Hoya?

Forrest was blown away when Mayorga was a bit of a secret and the gameplan in his second fight was horrible. Mayorga messed with his head and made a career out of they wins.

A fighter the calibre of Trinidad or De La Hoya problem solved Mayorga in seconds, that's why the guy was the ultimate comeback oppenent.

 

I always liked Oscar and always admired him in that he never took an easy road,he always fought the best available and never ducked anyone..........but his losses on the really big stage mess him up a little legacy wise...he will always be the guy who came up short .... To me there are 2 Oscars,when he was with Alcazar he was on his toes ,in and out constantly,throwing great combo's,then theres the Oscar with Floyd Sr. who became more flat footed ,got hit more,and threw less combo's.So for me he will always be a high level fighter who could have given anyone a fight and a lot of trouble and might have been able on certain nights to beat some ATGS but in my mind he will always be the guy who came up a little short.

 

Oscar can pass to ATG. DLH got lousy in later years of his career, but I think he can still be remembered as one of the boxing greats in years to come.
