Just wondering how people rate Oscar, the fighter, not the man or the PPV king.

As a fighter on the whole, how do you rate his career, wins, loses.

I think he was a great fighter, stepped up the the plate and fought near everyone, he has some great wins mixed with some defeats.

Although i am constantly changing my mind on him i rate him highly.

  2. he doesnt have that many wins against quality opposition. he never lived up to his potential imo.

I think oscar was a great fighter with great potential but I consider him a hof fighter, I think nowadays everyone is considered a ag but to me there are just a few of that era and hoya just misses the boat because he lost almost all of his biggest fights or was involved in close disputable fights. He still had heart and was better then people give him credit for today.

Tough losses but fought everyone. Tons of respect for him. I always said he would be GOAT if he won all of his fights.

Highly, very underrated, and exciting, infact his career set is one of the most exciting you can buy imo.

ODLH beat Tito and Mosley 2 as far as im concerned, I dont care what the official cards read, that said, I thought he lost to Quartey, Sturm.

He was an elite fighter but not quite A+ in my book. A little too predictable. A solid all around fighter with a great left hand.

very popular figure who had a great career, lost a majority of his biggest fights with a few controversial wins tossed in. Will be remembered more for his popularirty than ring greatness. He fought some big fights yet never did rematch Trinidad, fell short in his quest for immortality, never quite had that defining victory, yet had a lower level hall of fame career.

Credit to Oscar for taking the fights against some elite boxers but although he won some he lost the majority, so its impossible to rank him very highly when taking only about elite boxers.

He just needed that win over a great in their prime. He stepped up and should be praised for that, especially with what todays guys do, Wlad ,Floyd, Manny Haye!

He's a great and a possible ATG if not he's close to being one. His wins over the best on his record are a bit lacking but he definitely got robbed vs Trinidad and I admit that as a Tito fan. Also should've gotten the decision in the Mosley rematch. IMO he got a gift in the Whitaker fight. Pretty exciting to watch at his best but gets underrated now though I feel he was overrated then. It's ashame he didn't get the Mosley 3 or Tito 2 fights because I felt they would've enhanced his legacy. The man fought just about everyone and came to fight aswell. Had potential to be more of a boxer-type but chose to trade more. History will look kindly to him but unkindly to his running against Tito though he more than made up for that with his wars against Shane. I felt the rematch took a lot out of both men. BTW, I thought Mayweather clearly beat him it wasn't close at all IMO. "If he used his jab more.." is wishful thinking. Floyd beat him clearly. Clearly.
