How do you rate Shannon Briggs for punch resistance?

He got tougher as carreer went along, he would give up a bit when hit early in career, improved a lot after Wilson fight.

His extra weight helped him to absorb shots better in his late career. In the 90s his chin was average.

It might help you from being physically forced off of your feet, when you aren't being hurt, but I really don't think it alters your resistance to being hurt and stopped. If Dave Jaco drank a bunch of protein shakes (the wink, wink, nudge, nudge kind) and spent four hours lifting weights everyday and started resembling Torfi Olafsson in his build, he'd still have been getting his ass knocked out by the same people, I'd have to think. If it altered your resistance to getting hurt and stopped in any significant way, I'm thinking we'd be seeing an awful lot of guys bulked into the Briggs level, but we don't. We'd be seeing guys getting a chinny reputation just packing on the pounds and not getting hurt. Tommy Morrison was pretty bulked up. I think putting on even more muscle mass wasn't going to really change anything for his chin reliability though. I'm probably not making any sense. McGrain's trying to brainwash me about Liston in another thread.
