I've never been high on Berto. I think he has potential, but I just don't think he is that good yet.

I like Shane, but I think his accomplishments are vastly overrated. His claim to fame is beating De La Hoya in one fight that could have went either way, and another that he should have lost. People seem to forget that Mosley lost twice in a row to two different guys, both of which would be hard pressed to make it into the Hall of Fame. Beating Margarito was the first impressive thing he had done in quite some time.

The first fight was clearly Shane's. The second could have gone either way. Forrest was a H2H beast at Welterweight and Wright was one of the best P4P fighters of the decade, and one of the best 154 pounders of all time.

  6. i have very little respect for boxers who cheat or who have cheated in the past. we really dont know how the use of PEDs impacted his career. he's not an atg.

agreed with everything except the Cotto fight. I got it 7-5 for Cotto. Nevertheless, my rating of Mosley went up with his solid performance of margarito. floyd fans were quick to say floyd would of done the same, but with his 12 round win over marquez, I am highly doubtful he would of destroyed margo. he is not on the original Sugars level or even Leonards, not many are, but if he beats Berto, Pacman, and finally Mayweather, there has to be serious consideration of him being the best of this newer era where he was supposed to be in the twilight and end of his career. maybe with richardson in his corner his best wins are yet to come.

I think the best thing to do is wait until his career is finalized before analyzing his place in history.

You know, it's so subjective. I can't see him outside the top 200. Highly doubt he's outside top 150. Think it's acceptable to have him in the mid to lower 100 but not necessarily at this point. People may not think Berto is a great name-because he hasn't proven to be-but for Shane to beat him at this stage and unify? That would be a bigger boost for his status than I initially was thinking when the bout was proposed. It does mean something significant I'm thinking now. At first I just thought it wouldn't be more than a nice last good one but now I'm looking at it differently.
