I wasn't confident about Froch as you know. The current Bute I'm confident beats the current Kessler. A few years ago different story, Bute wasn't as impressive and Kessler was much better. I think he'd stop him too.

I can't believe so many people have Ward ahead of Froch. Ok his win over kessler was very impressive but I see the collective wins of pascal, taylor, dirrel (very debatable but still a W) and abraham as better than kessler, a highly average green and bika. I would probably have ward 2nd then kessler then bute

I'd have to agree with this.

Dont really like Froch as a person, but his resume is very impressive. I think he beats Bute anyway. Well depending if its in Canada or not.

Wards win over Kessler which was dominant puts him ahead of Froch who lost to Kessler. If Kessler was still fighting you would have to have him ahead of Ward wouldn't you?? And you couldn't have Ward below Kessler?

    That doesn't wash with me....

Style's make fights. You cant just rank a fighter above another because he beat the man that beat him. I know stylisticaly Froch is not much to look at, but look at his resume its excellent at SMW

So who would you rank as the number 1 if Kessler came back?

    I'd have it

    Froch
    Ward
    Kessler
    Bute

all very close, but Froch edges it due to his impressive CV.

I think the fact that Kessler-Froch was so close and Ward-Kessler wasn't would make it fair to have Ward ahead of Kessler if Froch was considered number 1. Plus possibly Froch's best win came vs Abraham after the Kessler fight in which time Kessler hasn't been able to fight so he can't just stay behind Kessler until he fights again. Its very subjective and tough to rank but just because fighter A beat fighter B but lost to fighter C it doesn't mean necessarily that fighter C is the best, if you can understand that logic

so what...James Buster Douglas clearly beat Mike Tyson, is he a greater heavyweight? Your putting too much emphasis on one fight..

I do get that but Ward is still no.1 based on resume & performance in mine and most peoples opinion.

Yeah I don't see a lot in it with Froch and Ward at the min, just have Froch shading it. At least we should hopefully have them in the Super 6 final to decide who's best
