I think you have an amazing scene overall, i fans are there and there a following that's the most important thing. Lots of boxers, lots of events, in the end thats what really matters

Have you seen the match? If you haven't, watch it and the Davies match, Taylor is the goods. I'm over the moon high on him.

Brook is, indeed, a fine fighter, if a chronically mismanaged one whose potential has been squandered to a significant degree. I tend to think of him as roughly Froch's era, though, given that they began their pro careers only a couple years apart.

How do you think he's going to do at 154lbs? I think he's going to kick some serious arse there and serve up a delicious batch of brownies for everybody.

Not sure I have ever seen the kid, actually, no. Seeing on his BR page that he only debuted in 2015, so his rise up has pretty much coincided with me having my thumb less on the pulse of the sport than I used to. He's definitely under my radar. His past few outings have all seen him as the headlining act on Channel 5 cards in the UK (and I wouldn't really bend over backwards to watch a Ch. 5 show without knowing any of the principals), and before that my one major opportunity to have been exposed to him would've been on the Frampton vs. Santa Cruz undercard on ShoX but that was the night we had dueling RBR threads; I had the Miura vs. Román & Bandito vs. Berchelt card on HBO. So that explains that. Blue chip prospect, fully matured, with a couple of decent names on his record and has already snagged and defended a WBC Silver title, all without me taking any notice. :roto2nuse:

Wait up just a moment, though - in my defense, the kid was fast-tracked a bit there. How do you go from 6-0 having fought nothing but cab drivers with a losing record on average, to challenging for the Commonwealth title? We're no longer bothering with the old regional/English/British and then make the leap to Lonsdale outright and/or Commonwealth system of progression nowadays? Just bash half a dozen tomato cans and boom, there you are, couple fights away from international/minor world titles?

They did, but Kell didn't really come on and enjoy his best day in the sun until after the Cobra had begun to wind down. Brook's first victory that earned him any repute in the global community outside the UK was Senchenko (who still carried the mystique of unexpectedly outclassing Fatton and stopping him on a body shot), and that was only a month before Kessler II. After that came Porter, a few months after Groves II.

Also, you weren't always over the moon on him, CST - you said the judges were too generous with their scorecards for him versus Alfonso Olvera (who???) and said that even you "might have been too generous" with your 77-74.. :naughty2:

I was really impressed by the one that wears plaid shorts. The other isn't too bad either.
