Holyfield wins a heart poll. First Bowe fight alone.

Change holyfield with tyson. Fought bigger hitters clearly, and was a smaller man.

Holyfield got KTFO by Riddick Bowe, who was never regarded as a guy with devastating one punch power, and later got destroyed by James Toney. Moreover, Holyfield had pretty solid head movement and didn't eat shots flush quite as often as Tyson did anytime after he was no longer with Rooney. Post-Rooney Tyson had no defense. None. He just ate shots, and it still took a sustained beating to take him out.

Tyson's chin was better for me, but post-Rooney he didn't have any heart for the fight game. Holyfield's heart was greater than Tyson's in the 90s by far, but his chin? Not so much. Holyfield's heart and chin in unison made his durability and staying power greater than 90s Tyson, but in terms of ability to eat flush shots on the chin and remain standing, I think Tyson is better than Holyfield. It's close though.

Look how many times bowe hit holyfield in all three of those fights. It was three wars. Tyson did not fight that Riddick Bowe or anybody close.

He got blasted by flush power punches from Lennox Lewis for 8 rounds before going down. Lewis wasn't able to tee off on Holyfield that badly in either of their two fights for any length of time. Bowe isn't in Lewis' league as a puncher.

As I said earlier, Holyfield's better defense and heart made his survivability and durability greater than 90s Tyson, but Tyson could eat more powerful and more numerous shots.

No worse than getting KTFO by Buster Douglas and later getting destroyed by Danny Williams.

Mike had an excellent chin, but he never proved he could stand up to bombs from quite the same quality of punchers as Holyfield did. I do agree that it's close and that Holy's chin wasn't as big a factor in his overall durability as his heart, quick powers of recuperation, and God-damned terrifying determination.

Tua - easily the best chin here
Vitali - great chin, never been down.
Holyfield - great chin, tested against a multitude of big punchers.
Tyson - solid chin, but has been stopped several times

Tua is the single most overrated heavyweight ever.

He was put over by Hasim Rahman, and was even schooled badly by Hasim before having to cheat to stop a jelly jawed Rahman. :patsch
I've not yet seen Vitali sparkled clean out, Tua has been sparkled with headgear on too.

I'd put Tua last. He gets raves cause of IKe fight, but that guy was built great, but not bg ko artist. Tua totally dogged it against lewis, fought like coward, throwing punches, yes, but from far away enough not o land, or get countered. When Lewis made contact, it was from distance that was safe for Tua. If he had sucked it up and came in at fighting weight, and gone all out to win, we could have seen what kind of chin he really had.
