How do you rate Tyson Fury's chances against Oleksandr Usyk?

You are listing mostly how good their careers are... fights outcomes don't translate to that.

How is Usyk going to hit Fury more than the opposite ?

Fury will have a easier time landing his jab right hand in Usyk than he did against Ngannou, due to Usyk having a super simple basic ortodhox style, being a small southpaw guy with little power. Usyk's power compared to that of Ngannou is like comparing a 357 Magnum with a .380 ACP.

Fury will need to improve on his performance against Ngannou to beat Usyk but every time Fury has been written off he came back and won. There's a clear pattern there.

He'll beat him. I didn't expect Ngannou to do as well as he did, but I predicted before the fight that he would carry Ngannou to sell the Usyk fight. Not sure how he does it, but it seems like he's the underdog for one reason or another in the majority of the fights he's been in despite outweighing most of his opponents by 30 - 50 lbs. If he's allowed to clinch without even throwing a punch like I saw a few times in the Ngannou fight then he will win for sure.

Honestly Fury looked like he should be retiring, not taking on the HW champion of the world.

Fury should really have lost to NGannou and looked shot whilst losing to him.

I'd be amazed if he beats Usyk.

Even after such a poor performance at the weekend I'd still say it's a 50/50 fight if not 60/40 in Fury's favour. Fury on decline but not sure he's look so bad if fully prepared and trained for undisputed fight!

His chances are good, if he is focused. If he looks like he did against Nganoue, he loses. At tho pint difficult to say.

Exactly this . Fury and ngannou have nothing in common . Against usyk fury can fight his pace and will probably win .

Against ngannou he looked bad as never simply because he never faced such a physical monster . This fight was finally about par only because it was a boxing fight which ngannou played clean with his limited boxing skills .

Freestyle mma ngannou would crush fury as well every other boxer .

By that you man lean his blubber on a man 50 lbs lighter to smother and wear him out? He realized that didn't work so well against a man near his size and stronger but yeah against the much smaller man Tyson may have success there.

Sadly depsite being exposed, due to the above Usyk is probably the best rebound fight to have for Fury.

Even before this last weekend I leaned toward Usyk, although I viewed the fight as being pretty even and one that could go either way. After the fight with Ngannou, eh... I really don't know, cause right now it's hard to tell why that fight went like it did. If it's because he didn't seriously train and came in poorly prepared under the assumptions it would be a sparring match against a guy who had other ideas, then I'm sure this past weekend will give him the kick in the pants he needed to seriously train for a guy I'm sure he already intended to have a major training camp for anyways.

But if it's because he's finally started to age, not just from the natural process but from all the years of drinking, drugging and ballooning up and down in weight, he's not gonna have a snowball's chance against Usyk. Not unless he's also aged pretty badly, and that ain't something I would count on considering his work ethic, even if he has also been slowing down a bit in his recent fights. I'm really hoping this one isn't the case, because I want this undisputed fight to be a great one with both guys coming in as their best selves they can be at this point in time.

So in short, my answer is "It depends." If it was the result of poor training, then I think the same as before, it's an even fight but I lean Usyk. If it's because he aged over night, I give him next to no chance. Either way I still back Usyk. Only thing I can say for certain is that nothing he did this past Saturday moved the needle in his favor as far as that fight goes.

Due to obvious differences in style, strength, power and sheer physical attributes, of course Ngannou’s successes against Fury don’t necessarily translate as successes for Usyk.

However, there are many positive features to Olek’s game that Ngannou clearly does not possess.

Features that people have detailed and reasoned to be sufficient for Usyk to defeat Fury - a conclusion reached well BEFORE Fury’s fight vs Ngannou.

I think that Usyk’s power and its potential effects on Fury have been underrated to an impractical point.

In his groove, Usyk throws nice combos, punches in bunches.

They can add up, round by round, in an accumulative sense and a given salvo can also have a dizzying effect in its own right.

When he plants, which admittedly isn’t that often in the general run, Usyk can punch that bit harder again.

In terms of power, it appeared Usyk punched more purposefully after the KD (foul) against Dubois and very effectively so.

While Ngannou has greater power than Usyk, the shot that dropped Fury was by no means fully leveraged nor flush on the more vulnerable chin area.

Had Fury taken that shot and not gone down, I don’t think people would’ve necessarily interpreted that as a great show of resilience on Fury’s part nor would they view it as an example of Fury having absorbed one of Francis’ more acute power shots to a vital area.

Given the intelligence he has exhibited thus far in and out of the ring, I doubt Olek himself would’ve processed the Ngannou fight as signalling any significant, newly evolved advantage to him - aside from Olek possibly concluding a stand alone, substantive deterioration in Fury’s game, a short coming totally unrelated to the opposition (Ngannou) at hand.

One thing Olek might hope for is that Fury’s confidence has been significantly dented.

However, Fury might understand, like some of us, that the complexion of his last fight doesn’t correlate with how a fight vs Usyk would flow and unfold, therefore Fury may not be so mentally compromised by the time he ultimately faces Usyk.

If Fury opts for the most positive motive, he would be now viewing the Usyk fight as an opportunity for deemed redemption - a cancellation of sorts of his last fight.

However, whatever the result vs Usyk, true redemption for his last fight can only be achieved if Fury then also goes on to rematch and clearly defeat Ngannou.

Lewis had his nightmare fights that we all are aware of but he went on to emphatically reverse the outcomes - cementing the argument that he was somewhat under par the first time around.

So, just as much as the Ngannou fight doesn’t correlate to a match vs Usyk, a possible victory over Usyk wouldn’t (shouldn’t) improve Fury’s perceived advantage over Ngannou - the only way Fury could achieve that would be to actually rematch Francis.

First things first though - the Usyk fight - bring it on!

Fury still beats Usyk. Ngannou was able to counter Fury's physicality. Usyk won't be able to do that.

Slim to none. He looked shot against Ngannou. If he was getting repeatedly backed to the ropes and outmaneuvered by a cement footed plodding novice imagine what Usyk will do to him.

2 chances, slim and none. I'm here for the redemption though come on the Gypsy King #WarFury
If he can get himself back into decent shape and come with a good set of gameplans he can do it. He did look significantly weak vs Ngannou, and if that is something he can reverse then the Fury train is back on track, if not then it will be a L and probably retirement.
He still has huge dimensional advantages over Usyk after all, it would be pretty bad to lose against such a smaller guy.

Usyk is one of the most overrated fighters in the history of boxing, he doesn't deserve all the praise he is getting last few years, he will get beaten by Fury and a few others during his career and this post right here will age like chilean wine.
