I've heard it talked about on the forums quite a bit, just wondered how people see a Froch - Golovkin fight going in the next year or so? Honestly after watching the Stevens fight, I think Golovkin might get tagged a bit too much by the big guys at 168 if he ever moves up, the height/reach advantages that a guy like Froch would hold over him might make the difference. Would be a hell of a fight!
This might sound daft but I fancy GGG chances more against Andre Ward both have superior boxing skills but GGG carries the punching power but it would depend if the step up and he carried it with him. Froch is an awkward super middleweight to fight and I believe if he does step up maybe Bika or Steglitz would be his first opposition.
I think with the Stevens fight, Stevens was just in survival mode after the first knockdown, and Golovkin was just unloading on him and getting a bit sloppy. It's hard to say how it would go with Froch, but Froch is a much bigger man, and a world class fighter. The physical advantages are all with him. Abraham struggled to make the MW limit, and looked a small man compared to Froch. Golovkin is a fair bit smaller.
Golovkin has the skills to outbox Froch. Froch beat Taylor, but he was knocked down, had a rough time beating him, but Froch came to America to fight Taylor unlike Ward who will not fight outside his home town with his personal judges, referee, boxing commission, etc., and now he will not take a drug test for his next fight!
I don't know why more people can't see this Badger. You might as well ask how do you see GGG v valuev going.... Or if a horse had two humps how would it do as a camel.... Froch is too big for GGG. Nowhere....that's where it's going!
Good fight. Froch would have a big reach advantage, so if he would stay on the outside and try to outbox Gennady like he did to AA he might take it. He shouldn't brawl with him like he did with Bute (and many others) though, cause that would end badly for him but I think he will do that anyway.
Good point lads,a good big un will always beat a good little un.If they were both the same size I would be more concerned for Carl.
Still need to see more of GGG before I decide he knocks Froch out. Froch is tough as they come and I see him being able to absorb the shots of GGG. At this point, I'm taking Froch by knockout.
Golovkin hasn't been dropped in 400+ fights. He's a huge puncher, better technically and would make Froch look silly.
The way GGG looks on the back foot is encouraging for Froch. He is nowhere near as effective when hes being pushed back and his defense is not the best. I really think Froch stops him
a good big un beat a good small un... but a great small un can beat a good big un. GGG never been dropped, despite being significantly smaller than froch... I think he can carry his power up to 168 for sure. Froch has been hurt to both body and head... With Taylor he was dropped and Kessler had him hurt in both their fights. I beleive GGG will outskill froch and possibly hurt him bad. GGG has that one punch power... Froch power is comes with accumulation. GGG takes this by late stoppage
Froch is always going to be the bigger guy although Golovkin does seem to have tremendous power which if carried up to SMW would give everyone a nightmare. TBH I think that Golovkin will probably need to move up to get fights!
