I think Kovalev will do what he usually does but more cautiously and throwing more jabs. That's exactly what he should do - pepper Hopkins with jabs to the head and body, hit him on his arms and shoulders. Just watch out for Hopkins' right hand/headbutt combo, which is really the only threat that Hopkins presents these days. There isn't going to be any magical neutralizing. On the inside, Hopkins will find that Kovalev stays active and still hits hard. I think Hopkins needs a KO to win because otherwise Kovalev will grind him down over 12.
I see it going the way it goes when I actually see it. Hopkins is my favorite active fighter, but he's nearly 50 years old and he's got a tough task in front of him. Just the fact that he took this fight, though, makes Pacquiao and Mayweather look like a couple of ****ing punk ass bitches.
