Francis Ngannoumedov. Glad Gane won the first two rounds so i could hedge a bit on my Gane pre fight bet. Gane has a lot of work to do with the defensive grappling though. Time to switch camps for a few months and go the wrestling route. Otherwise he's going to be another Kevin Holland. Nice striking acumen and better than 95% of the division but the defensive grappling killing him in those big fights against strong opponents.
I believe Pulev would beat him but only has 14 KO`s and isn`t knocking out anyone the size of Francis, that idiot Fury is now saying he want to fight Francis in Las Vegas.
Takedown aren’t scored like KDs in boxing. Many guys have been taken down multiple times in a round and were able comeback to win the round. Stop pretending that you know anything about this sport, Mark.
Wrong. That "sane" person would have to go against the usual UFC style of scoring. You have to land more than what Gane did (a few jabs in the 5th that did 0 damage) to offset those takedowns. Even if Ngannou didn't do much on the ground takedowns and keeping guys down always gets points in the UFC.
I have never been impressed by Ngannou he's striking is awful imo. He would be embarrassed in boxing. Gane was schooling him on the feet, Ngannou just has brutal force. As others have stated Gane threw the fight away in rd 5 by dumb fight IQ. I would heavily favour Gane to win if they fight again. Even losing he looked the much better skilled fighter. Seriously he should have just picked apart Ngannou on the feet in rd 5 or after his takedown just play safe and stay safe on top and wind the clock down.
