You should apply for a licence, get contacts with gyms, trainers, fighters and their managers, a lot of connections with sponsors, local or bigger TV, venues, etc.

Unless you are Golden Boy himself or you have a lot of money/u turn to the mafia, you have to start small and better build up a team (promoter, matchmaker, CEO etc.) because it takes a hell of a hard job for one man to build and run his company at the same time.

Small cards, up and coming local fighters vs. bums and events like that, step by step making your name, building up fighters, getting the respect of the other promoters, the local commissions etc. etc., and if you can bring in the audience, money for the sponsors, ratings for the TV and after a few years you actully start to earn (not put in) money, you're on the right road.

But starting at an already working promotional company to learn is the best thing IMO, and when the time is right, you should make a move.
