Completely agree with all the points. Its shocking that AJs team has not worked on his head movement which is as you say, a basic movement required in boxing which is second nature for boxers who have boxed as a young child or have a strong amateur pedigree. Joshua had neither experience.

Sponsors love him as he is aesthetically pleasing to the consumer and has a good attitude to the sport and life in general.

He is not a fighter. If he didn't have power he would not be in the spotlight position he is in today. I do not see any other qualities AJ has?

I couldnt imagine the sort of damage a prime Tyson or Foreman would do to him.

Its almost too late for them to work on head movement and too late to work on footwork, hes closer to 30 now. He just needs to build and brush up on his weaknesses as best he can with the time he has. It would be a shame to see him fall just from one loss.

Yes. Without his tall, crafty and muscular body composition and the crazy power he has he would be a journeyman level fighter. His overall boxing skills are pretty poor as i mentioned above with the different points. He has nothing to offer apart from that. And it was exposed badly on Saturday night vs. a guy who hasn't only fast hands and can throw in combinations, no, who has actually pretty good ring iq, footwork and defensive skills. Ruiz is one class above Joshua in ALL deparments apart height and he could neutralize that easily with his skills.

100% this. Every time Ruiz hurt Joshua it was when Joshua was loading up huge shots, and often connecting but leaving himself wide open. I honestly don't know if there is another boxer out there with the chin and the cojones to win with that style, but Ruiz did it brilliantly.

Badly. The knockdown aside, which i thought was brilliant, the right hand he landed, the way he quickly got inside and that uppercut-left hook was superb, however, everything else was shocking.

Hands down, bending over, coming down to his opponents level, his jab was atrocious in all forms....there were no feints, they were slow, he was jabbing from the hip,. His defence is so poor as well, no head movement, not the exactly the bet footwork, no slipping or deflecting shots, just stuck his gloves round his ears and that was it.

He needs to go back to being the destroying AJ, coz he has the ability to get anyone out of there, but if he hangs in there too long, anyone has a chance against him, and what makes it worse now is that everyone will know

Agreed. His amateur background gave him a big advantage over AJ. Unfortunately most people see the illusion of a muscular frame as the stronger/better fighter but as Proven by Ruiz Jr, looks can be deceiving.

I think he would struggle against Fury due to Fury's boxing IQ and his ability to jab and move (As proven against Wilder) and Parker due to Parker's strength, footwork and hand speed and his ability again to box and move. Fighters like Wilder and Whyte are easier brought into a brawl and would most likely suffer AJs fate.

I cant say for the young boxers coming up though such as Efe, Dubois, Joyce and Gorman. We can only hope they have enough time to grow in the division and not be used as a cash cow which it seems AJ has and is currently being used for.

This is the difference in the style he should box, use height, jab and move not crouch down flat ffoted in front of the guy.

'Everyone will know' That is the problem now. All the Heavies will be smelling blood now his chin has been exposed. For a long time it was suspect but now it has been confirmed. Parker, Whyte, Wilder... Even the young prospects will be looking for this now. The Kings Achilles heel has been found.

Unless he learns how to move his head and defend himself without acting like a kangaroo trying to punch!

Copy and pasting what I put in the Brit forum.

If AJ fights the same way then he loses again. Fought like an absolute ******.

Gave up centre of the ring right away with no fight, so he's already having to work harder than he needs to. You've got a shorter fighter who is countering you with hooks, so why you still bringing that lazy ass jab back to your waist? So stupid. Since the Wlad fight they've been trying to make him a more cautious back foot fighter but he just isn't that kind of boxer. He doesn't have it in him. His jab isn't that effective and he doesn't have the tank required to bounce around the centre of the ring whilst throwing scoring shots for 12 rounds. I didn't expect Ruiz to win but I've said for a long time on here he is underrated. He timed AJ and countered him brilliantly. And he got him with that left hook time and time again. Just like Whyte did, just like Povetkin did. AJ didn't have the nous to stop it from happening and I suspect the first one concussed him a little.

When he was hurt against Whyte and Wlad he took a couple of rounds to get back to normal speed. He did that here. But then Ruiz started to work his body brilliantly and slowed him down again. This was a fight about boxing intelligence as much as anything. Composure, too. Ruiz stayed composed after the KD and stayed relaxed during the rest of the match, didn't burn up nervous energy like Mr Motivator did.

Did AJ get exposed? Yeah, his ring IQ and stamina did. Does that mean he's a fraud? Nah, what he does after this matters hugely though.

You know, Ruiz is a born boxer right? Raised as a boxer as a child. The man has been a boxer all his life. Hearn and AJ had no idea who they were messing with.

Well he did do that defensively. It was his offence that lacked.

This is a Good breakdown of it:

AJ didn't come to fight, he came to be seen and that's what happened. People saw him get his butt tore up. He needs to really dig deep into himself and make a decision as to what he really wants to do. He must know that his chin is china and it will be checked again. Maybe he should take his earning and call it a day or channel the grit he showed in the Klitschko fight and come like a lion. At any rate, it won't get easier but rather harder.

On second watch I think that’s what Joshua was doing. He caught Ruiz with punches that would’ve knocked out everyone else. I think Ruiz is just an iron chinned monster who is a bad style for AJ.

He Is a tough, stocky and grounded man. Perfect against tall fighters who love a brawl (AJ, Wilder, Whyte) This rematch however... Im nervous for Ruiz Jr.

Pretty sure he done all that. Contrary to reports joshua wasnt boxing too badly them first two rounds. Ruiz had his success but ruiz looks a good solid fighter in fairness. Joshua looked on his way to a 3rd round knockout. No one would have complained about joshuas performznce. He goes in for the kill....a bit too early. Ruiz to his credit comes out fighting....catches joshua on the temple...and it changes the whole fight.hd just couldnt recover and ruiz makes him pay for it. These things happen at heavyweight.
