This is true. I don't know if he can. That is really all he needs. He doesn't have the foot speed to keep Marg away from him like Manny did. He may not be able to but its not impossible. Plus who is to say he is the same fighter after the beating Manny gave him.

Use better footwork and positioning. He can just bodyshot antonio to death instead of clinching.:deal

Yea I agree with that. But when Marg starts pressuring Cotto, will Cotto start trying to fight backwards again?

Shane laid down the blueprint, but like Freddywak said not in his game. I do expect more bodyshots from Cotto.Hes going to have to land some serious thunder to get Margaritos attention and slow him down. We know who has the better stamina here and its not MAC.

Cotto is my favorite fighter, but I'm not sure if he can beat Margo unless he clinches on the inside. I'm not a big fan of fighters without an inside, game clinching all the time, but Cotto has an inside game, it's just that so does Marg, who also has a better chin (provided shane didn't crack it). It would behoove Cotto to avoid any infighting and instead clinch and then move. I still think this is a 50/50 fight since Marg did get destroyed by Shane and Pac since these two met. Had he not had those two fights, I'd have Marg a large favorite.

Cotto was very successful early before Margarito got control

Margarito is a build up fighter keeps coming coming coming doesnt wear you down or win roudns at first but slowly steals the tide

could be like his Williams fight, Cotto wins early fades late but surves some big shots to hold on

I believe Margo suffered big time in his 2 KO losses and the lay off pluss the surgery means that part of his face is vulneralbe

Cotto is a bleeder too, we may get a dud here as neitehr guy is really themself any more

Cotto may be able to edge it but i think his pride drags him into a brawl that he cant win

    either cotto by dull decision

or Margarito wears down a less than stellar Cotto

If Cotto's strength is better than the first fight and he sticks to boxing, I think that coupled with the fact that Margs won't have fought for 13 months will allow him to survive long enough to get the wide UD.

Cotto likes to party too much, he fades late in fights and Margo will bring more pressure than Mayorga and Foreman did. Unless Cotto can avoid him like the plague I see the same result.

After the Pac beating, Margs will not be the same man.

I got Cotto by KO via body shots in later rounds.

It all depends on how much Margarito has gone down hill.............

clinching when in trouble, STAYING AWAY FROM THE ROPES, and a few ***** slaps here and there and my boy cotto should win, impressively and hopefully puts all this retirement **** to rest

Cotto can do some things that will make his job easier - like clinching, moving away from the ropes, and not running like a marathoner, but I don't think he will do all of that. I think he'll get worn down by Tony's size, pressure, and bodypunching. He might be a shell of what he was when he was younger, when he may or may not have been using illegal wraps, but he's still strong, heavy handed, and takes a good punch. Cotto's seen his best days go by too. I like Antonio Margarito here.

Cotto is not going to clinch. Period. He just needs to jab and keep turning Margarito. With Steward, they have been working on turning, pivoting, not backing straight up. He really worked the angles on Mayorga. Cotto just needs to focus on putting rounds in the bank, getting some body shots in and not trying to tear Margarito's head off. He'll win this fight UD nothing like the first fight unless he really steps on the gas and goes for the ko mid to late rounds.
