How do you think Froch would fair if he moved up to Light Heavy?

It is relevant. Those cards prove Judges are scoring rounds and at times scoring the fight against Froch. This has happened in the UK, US and Denmark.

The general opinion on here is Cleverly has no chance. However, I believe Cleverly can get a decision.

If Froch knocks out Cleverly in RD 10 whilst behind on all three cards it shows he was in a tough fight.

 

The gap is not that wide. AA became world champ in an average 160 division. Pavlik would have spanked him.

It wouldn't shock me if Peter Manfredo beat AA by UD.

If he'd lost every round and won by lucky KO in the 12th I'd wholeheartedly agree with you. For every round that Taylor won in that fight, Froch took something out of him..... this is particularly true from the 4th onward, from which the tide started to change.

I didn't give Taylor a round after the 7th, he was 6-1 up at that point with a KD in the bank, so had six points on Carl on my card. Froch won the next four rounds, meaning Taylor needed to stay on his feet and not be twatted around the ring to win by a point.

He was obviously dropped and eventually stopped, so it's neither here nor there, other than me being of the meaningless opinion that all three judges were a bit off in that fight.

You never said Cleverly would cause Froch problems but would lose in the end. You said there is no way Cleverly out works Froch. He gets dominated.

If Cleverly is 7-2 on all three cards going into the 10th then he has OUT BOXED Froch.

Unless Dave Parris is scoring that is.

You and others have said Cleverly hasn't got a chance. I disagree. I feel Cleverly can give Froch trouble and get the decision.

Froch can also win, either by KO or decision.

 

i can see what you're saying in that cleverly has a great engine and seems to have a decent enough chin, so could give froch a few issues, but i couldnt see him beating froch as of yet, froch is on a different level atm

 

No chance.

Manfredo isn't a joker but he's just too fragile to beat a fighter like AA. His defence isn't the greatest, and would eventually be punched into submission in the middle rounds.

Cleverly might outwork Froch, but Froch would simply out-box him, probably countering him with hard shots through the middle and to the body.

He might be competitive in spurts, but to beat Froch you need a bit more than what Nathan has shown us to date. He'd need a lot of work on his jab, though his bodywork is good.

I just think he's too samey round by round for Carl to be unable to figure him out. Kessler switched things up regularly, leading and countering, working head and body to win a decision, and was able to do it because both men knew that Froch couldn't knock him out and was pretty respectful of what was coming back.

Froch for me hits hard enough to bother Clev, not sure the reverse is true.
