Well. If an old small archie moore and walcott could hurt and put rocky down then a prime louis could hurt and stop rocky brutally by fast, hard and accurate combinations before rocky has the chance to break him down. The chin of marciano is absolutely overrated ,a 40 years old moore knocked him down however joe frazier who got the fame of suspect chin by a few ignorant guys took every shot from bob Foster without blink.
Marciano had to use 8 rounds to stop a geriatric louis, a prime louis wins,he was much better than marciano

Louis wins via late round TKO or UD, but in a tough fight. I watched Louis/Marciano a few days ago and Louis actually was ahead on the cards and out boxing Rocky.

Clean knock out with in 10rds or cuts within 10rds either way prime Louis wins in brutal fashion.

Have never considered this, pairing in their prime, as one of my fantasy fights. There is such a gulf in class here, that it would likely end with Marciano in a very distressed state.
Would prefer Louis v Dempsey, Frazier or Tyson, where there are elements of doubt.

Based on how he marked up Rocky when he himself was well past prime, and with his right hand power depleted, I would expect Louis to bust up Marciano for a late rounds stoppage .I would think Rocky might well floor Joe before the end though. Louis Wtko 9thrd.

There's a flip-side to that too with Louis. He too was dropped and hurt by average pugs. Not saying you are wrong but it's only one side of the story.

I lean toward prime Louis as well. A young Joe Louis would bring the hand speed and power which the old Louis lacked when he met Marciano in real time.

That said, someone once said after Marciano stopped Louis that Marciano might have stopped the Louis of ten years earlier quicker because that version would have been coming forward as opposed to the older Joe, who moved backward in much of their fight.
