How do you think today's version of Hopkins does against the current crop of Brits?

I think people are being very sympathetic towards Hopkins...he was truly awful again last night with his head being his best weapon. Anyone with a bit of skill and who can fight at and maintain a high tempo will beat him.

    Current crop? Two light heavies?

How d'you think he'd fare in a third bout with Pascal based on last night? Repeat of last time or has he faded that little bit more that Pascal could take it?

Has Hopkins really not knocked anyone out since 2001???

*edit* course he ko'ed Oscar in '04, the commentary team said 01 last night and I thought it was a bit of a long time but 8 years still a while

I don't think any of the current light heavys beat him at the minute. He's just too crafty with too much experience for the likes of cleverly at the minute. Even though he got beat last night he still didn't take any punishment and is a very hard guy to land clean on.

He'd make the uk guys fight his fight at his pace and it prob wouldn't be that good to watch. Still sell **** loads of tickets though!! :good

Without a belt I don't think the BBBoC would sanction Hopkins to fight.

Cleverly would be a decent fight. Hopkins will sneak in that lead hook all night but Cleverly has a decent chin and is daft enough to fight inside with him.

    Really? Why not? :huh

Clev's best asset is his workrate and that seems to be the way to beat Hopkins now - I'd give him a good chance, absolutely.

I think Bellew would have to KO him which is a massive ask. Clev's strengths match with Hopkins weaknesses - you can't say the same for Bellew.

Yeah Cleverly has the engine to win but he did post missing for long spells in the Mohammedi fight because he couldn't land. Has me developed enough to keep on track against the slipping and spoiling master?:think

Tony v Hopkins in Liverpool would be nuts. Talk about chalk and cheese for opponents.:yep One minute you have target practice on MacIntosh, then you are in with B-Hop!

Cleverly's best asset is work rate, he'd put rounds in the bag easily and has the chin to take Hopkins punches.
