I never really had a proper prediction on the Froch vs Groves fight, I saw the fight as a 50/50 and anybody that asked me about it got the same answer from me!

If George had improved his defence and stamina, didn't get involved then i thought he could sneak a points win.

I also told them that if Froch could close the gap then i could see him knocking out George.

I personally would have liked a George win and maybe had said that but I really couldn't pick a winner with any real conviction!

It's certainly a strange situation in theory - the established no.2 in a division not wishing to take on the no.1, but it is understandable.

Ward beat Froch very comfortably, more so than the judges scorecards portrayed. The rematch would go the same way, we all pretty much know this, so where is the real need for this fight? Neither fighter should be criticised for seeking out different challenges.

If you look at Guillermo Rigondeaux and Nonito Donaire, it's a similar situation. Rigo boxed Donaire's ears off for the most part of twelve rounds. This doesn't mean Donaire isn't still a great fighter, but who would want to see that again?

To equate Froch not wanting to fight Ward to Frampton, Quigg and Santa Cruz not wanting to fight Rigondeaux is wrong, as they have not yet fought Rigondeaux. There's a difference between 1) fighting someone, losing badly, and deciding to do without a rematch, and 2) not fighting someone because you pre-emptively think you would lose.
