How do you view Oleksander Usyk's performance at heavyweight so far?

Looked considarably slower and less sharp than he was in WBSS.
Suspect that he is over the hill. :(
As a boxer, his skills are A+++ level if not talking about clinch.

Usyk likes this Oly type movement. He in no case shows talent in clinches, this is not Klitschkos, Briedis or even not close to Huck or Glowacki there.
Looks that him never liked this game.

He is good but he is very slow, this is huge distavange for Chisora.

Both these : Chisora and Whiterspoon were considerably slower than any of CW boxers he had fought.
Whiterspoon even was late replacement, supposed serious ring rust etc. Not ranked in TOP30.

His version after WBSS tournament? Looks he now not likely is capable to won Dorticos and Briedis, Okolie in clinch too might be nightmare for him.
Fury in clinch vs Usyk? Codolescence. close to this also if vs Briedis.

Like he looked in WBSS, was enough sharp and fast I think to gave competitive fight vs prime Povetkin.
Now? I think no, vs prime Povetkin he now is capable to do Nothing.
With 41 y.o Povetkin he might fight competitive, I think. enough old.

Apparently Usyk rated his performance against Chisora as a "3 out of 10" and vowed to make massive improvement.
Which is a bit harsh on himself, but far more realistic than some of the fanboys on here who are pretending he did a great job.

Well, this his version was not capable to hang vs the same then Gassiev and Briedis if they are in good shape, definitely no.

Maybe this is because he does have long mileage in amateur boxing? He's really highly skilled and had competed in plenty and a lot high level amateur championships etc. He is older too.

    He disappointed me a bit.
Yes, Chisora went the distance with a lot of big names, and I expected him to go the full 12 with Usyk beforehand, but there are a couple of things we shouldn't ignore.
First, Chisora went the distance with injured versions of both Vitali and Helenius. He clearly beat Helenius in that fight and got robbed though. The SD loss to Pulev was in now way an SD, as it was anywhere between 119-109 to 117-111 for Pulev. I thought he edged Whyte in the first fight though, and was very competitive up until the out of nowhere KO in the 11th. Also the Kabayel fight should have been an like 116-112 UD for Kabayel imo.
It seems that everywhere when Chisora isn't fighting a fellow Brit, or isn't fighting in someone else's backyard, he gets very favorable scorecards.

The Usyk fight was a clear win for Oleksandr, but far less dominating as I expected it to be. After the end of the 7th I expected it to be dominating affair from there on out, but Usyk didn't press the issue in the 8th, while Chisora's defence was still very leaky from being buzzed and gassed.
Then it suddenly got competitive again, which is a bad look for Usyk.

Of course this guy can't pull a Holyfield and roid himself into a full blown heavyweight, so we shouldn't expect him suddenly to become a human tank. But he's too vulnerable at HW to be favored against the big 2 at this point.

All solid points. Chisroa is sort of a bench mark these days, Judge Usyk for winning say 8-4 vs, the others who fought Chisora who are active.

This is to say Usyk did better than Helenius, Pulev, Whyte, and Kabayel vs. the same man. The only active fighter who handled Chisora better is Fury. Agreed?

This shows Usyk, who could improve at heavyweight certainly belongs in the top ten. IMO Chisora's style is the hardest type to Usyk to deal with.

On Usyk, his durability, and conditioning for the later rounds is undersold, and he could in theory be dangerous late.

The fight looked exactly as I thought it would. I don't think it changes anything. Also, it should be noted that elite boxers hardest opponents are generally the rough and tumble guys who come face forward and try to crowd them, so also take that for what it's worth.

Ya guys are too mesmerized with KO's

    Think you've nailed it.

Maybe he'll go on to look better against a different opponent, but on current showing he's not going to be the force at this weight that some hoped.

I mean it's been fine so far it's been 2 fights. Holyfield didn't really knock guys that big out either (out of shape douglas against absolute prime holy excepted) when he moved up and that has to be the gold standard of blown up cruisers.

I think Usyk is as good a boxer as exists in the hw division. However, before him that was Povetkin imo, and we see how Povetkin has fared against boxers over 6' 6". I agree with other posters on here that I have doubts against Joshua, Fury, even Pulev or Dubois etc.

I haven't seen it yet, and won't do until tonight, so my input can be very limited, but I'd just like to ask, how many ranked guys do you think could beat an in-shape Chisora quite so convincingly? I've read that Usyk did everything from lose to pitch a shut out, but the majority think he won all but three rounds.

I'm fairly certain that Chisora would win at least three rounds vs Ortiz, Parker, Povetkin, Ruiz and most others.

That's the thing though, he didn't beat him THAT convincingly. Two of the score cards were close, and many people thought USYK's performance was questionable, including Usyk himself.

chisora he looked like crap. all this noise about this being the best hes been is pure nonsense. he was slow, uncoordinated, tired and sloppy. the fact hes a top 10 fighter is an indictment on the hw division as a whole.

This. People are seriously underestimating how experienced Chisora is. I for one never thought Usyk was going to easily run through Chisora. In the later rounds Usyk knew he was ahead, so he didn’t risk jumping on Chisora, who despite being heavily fatigued was still waiting for the chance to land a big right.

If a Joshua-Usyk fight happens Joshua certainly won’t have an easy time with Usyk’s handspeed, timing, mobility, and ring experience. I can see those combinations to the body that Usyk was throwing on Chisora wearing Joshua down if Joshua isn’t careful, since Joshua is much easier to land on than Chisora.
