How does 6'9" 250lb Fury have such weak punches?

This fighting man don't like getting into the trenches
He likes to use the ring in its entirety makes full use of all his advantages and is very good at the safety first approach
His cv is very mediocre
This fighting family produce good boxers but I ain't seen one of them in a war dealing with adversity and come out the other side
Levels of competition i suppose
When fury looked at ustinov that day on the scales where he had no advantages and what happen afterwards says it all imo

 

Just genetics isnt it.

You could ask how wilder produces such power from his skinny, lanky 15 stone odd frame.

It's all about limbs, tendons, muscle fibres etc. Just how he was made in a nutshell.

He just cant generate the same force, speed and leverage that others can.

Not much he can do about it.

Fury obviously isn’t a puncher, but he has decent stoppage wins on his record (Chisora, Hammer etc), who went the distance with people regarded as harder hitters than Fury.

The accumulation of his punches combined with his weight has some affect on his opponents.

Some guys are built to be punchers, and some are not. There’s some variables that can be controlled (punch technique, strength, appropriate training), but that’s about getting the most out of what you have.

 

He throws arm punches without his body weight behind them,Valuev 7'2" 300lbs was never a puncher either.

 

Because he's a pure boxer, not a puncher. When he punches he's on the move right away. That's why his style is so effective. He can't be hit. See Floyd Mayweather and Billy Joe Saunders at his best.

Fury has enough power to keep his opponent honest. He used to knock guys over but it left him open for the counter and off balance. Tyson can punch when he sits down on his punches. But why risk the counter when you can box rings around anyone on the division?

 

He has to fight that style as he's got a terrible chin.

Yeah Fury ain't a puncher. And that's why he will struggle with AJ and Wilder. He'll get knocked out like price.

 

He doesn't sit down on his punches, he just flicks them out. When he does hold his feet he has a decent dig.

 

Fury doesn't need to be a monstrous puncher to beat Joshua, too quick, too much rhythm and he's too skilled to lose.

Well rumour around the boxing community is that it's a serious concern even in sparring he doesn't have the heavy handed punches to put the world class fighters away. His best chance is on the outside with points. I don't think he punches harder than povetkin and AJ took some heavy shots.
