This thread s a kind of spin off from ken's old George V new George. Bit split on the subject but how does a 91 foreman do against frazier, Norton, ali and young. Foreman s bringing a different approach to these fights so is it a winnable situation.? Foreman s probably the only former heavy weight champ to come along two decades later and be successful as he was. He mixed it up with holyfield , stewart, morrison, cooney and moorer, so what happens against the 70 s men?

My first line of thinking was if the old George was to face the Jimmy Young of '77 I think he would have stopped Jimmy round 8 onwards?

I see him getting outpointed by all four guys whom you mention by quite a distance.

George's chances of an upset would come against Norton and Frazier as they would always be the most vulnerable to his power.

I think I'm in agreement with you. Old George would be coming forward, picking away at young, slowly getting those right hands over, this wouldn't be the reckless bomb s away version. George would get him at some point.

Norton I see lasting longer than against young George but not by much. I can see him taking out ken before the fifth.

Frazier still loses brutally within 6-8 rounds. Norton most likely also loses. Ali wins a decision. Young probably loses a decision or gets stopped/ Lyle gets stopped late

Agreed. Foreman would have lost his speed compared to his youth but he now as patience and better defence. He would still have brutal power. The only one I'm uncertain about is ali. He's never koing him, so how would that match up play out?

He defeats them all easily...except Ali. Ali would still probably out point him, foreman has shown in both eras he could be out boxed...foreman of 1991 would have pounded guys like Lyle relatively easy.Tall boxers like Holmes/Ali would always pose problems style wise. Ali would NEVEr have knocked 1991 foreman out ,it would be more competitive however and IF Foreman started winning the jab ...he would win some..BUT Alis elusive movements would be difficult. Had foreman fought tucker i believe this fight would show this.

A better question to answer this thread would Jimmy young witha 20% k.o percentage EVER drop 1991 foreman let alone make him stumble witha shot on the chin? Haha such foolish ppl on this thread...smh.

Come on, he loses against them all, Ali, Norton , Young,Lyle even Frazier would wear out a slower George. Do you people think George actually improved from 25 to 45 years of age? Watch the tape, he threw slow ponderous one twos at 45, he sure as hell couldn't keep Frazier down at that age and like Alex Stewart Frazier would swell Foremans head up. He won the title because the heavyweight landscape had sank lower than Atlantis.

In contrast prime Foreman has a fantastic chance of beating Holyfiled. And would likely demolish Morrison, Stewart, and Moorer without too much trouble.

Ali would out box him in the center of the ring, Ali had lost his legs to some extent by 1974 but Foreman was obviously by no means a spring chicken by 91 either. I think Ali would outbox Foreman kind of like Axel Schulz did

It would depend on which strategy Joe brought to the fight. If he had the same gameplan that he did for the `76 rematch he may win a decision over Foreman.
