Why? Its easier to cherrypick and make your millions then. Oscar wasnt much of a deck stacker like other cashcows like SRL, Floyd or Canelo. It was easier to get big fights but he still took a lot of risks even when he lost several fights. Mexicans always talked **** about Oscar due to his pretty boy image but he was definitly a warrior.

Yeah, Djokovic is a great example. When he is almost out he just turns it around. Seen it plenty of times. But he has great confidence in his own ability and losses are obviously more common in tennis. In boxing it can hit you harder.

I'm not even downplaying him being a warrior but win or lose he's still getting paid and getting his pick of biggest matchups. It was a different boxing game back in the 90s/early 00s. Now it's all about risk management and protecting the 0. Back then it was putting on biggest fight nights with A+ matchups and memorable fights through word of mouth.

Not sure I'd say this about Roy, Roy's confidence never left even despite being sandbagged multiple times into submission. If anything his confidence and hubris got even stronger, because his mind actually thought his body could still do what it no longer could do, and it caused him all kinds of pain and hurt at the end of his career.

I'd say someone who never recovered confidence is Seth Mitchell. He was destroyed by someone who couldn't punch. Fought absolutely frightened in the rematch then was blasted out and never touched boxing gloves again in only a span of 3 fights.............That is someone's confidence being shattered and not recovering.

Just duck as much as you can, Fury is a good example of that.

Cor, dear oh dear. A lot of lads on here banging opinions in who never had a fight in their lives. I was a very ordinary amateur in the 1980's. Defeat hurts. Physically, mentally, emotionally. Walking back into school all busted up and the little kids asking, "How did you get on ? Did you win?" You want to say, "Does it look like I f..king won?!!"

After a week or two, you look back at the fight you lost and you remember the things you did well, a move, a shot, maybe just the adrenaline rush of standing there, having it with this kid that's better than you with the two hundred or so people in the Working Mens' Club or Ex Servicemens' you're fighting in shouting clapping and cheering.

After that, you remember the fights you've won. Hey, you're not so shabby, and that feeling when you win.... So you go back to the gym. Every lad in there has lost, the coaches, the Fighters, all of them. They know. You are back among your Brothers, that loss is gone.

When do I fight again ?
