the thing cotto has going for him is his activity level which is very high. i thought he lost to shane 7-5...so, by the way, did max kellerman. but that fight showed cotto was on the cusp of beng an elite fighter.

    - tito was exposed for being a cheater
    - dlh lost to most of he elite guys he faced (yes, including sweetpea and quartey)
-quartey reminds me of clottey in that his output was generally low.
    - forrest looked great against ssm, but vulnerable at times as well.
    - kostya could be outfought
    - winky lacked power

bottomline is, all the fights would be competitive to some extent...but i think cotto loses a lot more than he wins.

I don't think he would beat any of those guys, though he would probably give most of them fights.

A Monster who had to cheap shot Judah twice,
A Monster who quit on his knees against a fighter that lost to Paul Williams.
A Monster who was damn near KO'ED BY featherfisted Mayweather.
A Monster who was outclassed by Trout.
    A Monster who couldn't KO Paulie M.

Is that your idea of a Monster?:think

i'll never forget how cotto kept hitting zab in the nuts....and the ref kept warning zab not to retaliate. didn't even take a point...this was all to provoke zab because of the debacle in the ref after the tszyu fight.... i still think zab should have aimed for cotto's cup and thrown the hardest uppercut he could have mustered then turned and said "man, i'm soooooo sorry!" to the ref.

Vernon Forrest @ 147- Vernon Forrest would be too much for Cotto. Size, strength, speed, everything, Forrest beats up on Cotto.

Winky Wright- Winky's prime is at 154. Cotto is a small 154 fighter and is/has been past his prime at that weight. So, naturally, Wright beats up on Cotto.

Ike Quartey @ 147- Miguel Cotto had a close, competitive fight with Joshua Clottey, who was a notch below Quartey. I'd favor Quartey, slightly.

Oscar De La Hoya @ 147- I think it's a very competitive fight that could go either way. De La Hoya's length and jab, probably would be enough to keep Cotto at bay and may even stop Cotto if he lands one of those left hooks.

Kostya Tszyu @ 140- Cotto wasn't a great fighter at 140. I'd strongly favor Tszyu.

Prime Shane Mosley @ 147- Since they actually fought in the ring, it's fair to actually judge these two. A past-his-prime Mosley gave a prime Cotto a great fight. If Mosley were in his prime, he'd probably would have beaten Cotto. Still a competitive fight, but one in which I'd give the nod to Sugar Shane.

Tito Trinidad @ 147- I'd favor Tito to stop Cotto late in the fight.

Jesus Christ, imagine what Trinidad would of done to Cotto.. it would of been something nasty. That's the worst fight for Cotto out of all of them imo.

He competes with all of them except Wright and Tito.

De la Hoya couldn't win big fights.
    Mosley was beatable.
Tszyu falls to a body shot.

Ike Quartey - win for Cotto
Oscar De La Hoya - win for De la hoya
Kostya Tszyu - win for Cotto
Prime Shane Mosley - win for Cotto

Agreed, a very faded Mosley with 5 losses gave a fresh prime Cotto all he could handle in a fight that truly could have gone either way.

2000 Mosley clearly beats any version of Cotto imo.
