Even at the time I never saw what the fuss was with Peter. He looked crude as hell and very beatable. Only his ridiculous power and ability to take a shot was top notch. Joshua's a bit overhyped, but there's a lot more substance behind him. You can see he's not a one trick pony and he has a lot more tools at his disposal than Peter ever did. Only question marks right now are his chin and late rounds stamina. In a H2H I think Joshua outpoints Peter. Not sure if he knocks him out, though McCline managed to wobble him with a short uppercut and that's quite a sneaky punch for Joshua as well.
Good post. But I think Joshua has more question marks regarding his ability than just his chin and stamina. How will he cope with movement? We saw him struggle against movers in Savon and Dychko in the Olympics. I had similar doubts over Ortiz and look what happened when he faced Scott, he went from near invincible to old and flawed in one fight. How will Joshua cope with pressure? He's fought two guys who tried to take the fight to him and that was Whyte and Breazeale, Whyte gave him his toughest fight, Breazeale took him further than anyone else. Can Joshua move well off the back foot and control range against constant pressure. It's one thing to do it for a few rounds another to do it for the full 12 rounds. How will Joshua cope with excessive clinching? Can Joshua adapt in the ring, can he come back from a loss etc, so many unanswered questions.
Peter couldn't hurt a fat washed up Jameel MaCline over 12 rounds or an over weight Eddie Chambers. AJ would knock that MaCline into the next dimension. Worse than Chris Arroela did. Peters power was massively overrated. Wlad would not have gotten up if Peters possessed true elite level stopping power.
MaCline flattened Peter twice in the second round and almost had him knocked out. He blew his tank cos he took the fight on two weeks notice and was grossly out of shape. Peters chin was overrated as well. AJ obliterates that bum.
this fight is AJ's step up saying AJ obliterates peter before he's even proven himself is WAY too premature plenty of questions still to be answered, starting this weekend
Completely different styles. Joshua is like a bigger & more athletic Bruno. Peter was a bullish pressure fighter who liked a tear up.
