I know the size difference is big factor in this fight but can a focused and totally in-shape Norris beat PAvlik?
Pavlik's chin is questionable too and Norris' only chance is to catch him cold early IMO. Wouldn't NOrris be dangerous for the first 6 rounds?
Norris is a 154 pounder, Pavlik is a 160 pounder. Norris has a weak chin, Pavlik has a somewhat questionable chin at a higher weight. And as hard as Norris hits at 154, Pavlik hits harder at 160. In other words, no, Norris is not dangerous for a full 6 rounds, because he doesn't make it 6 rounds.
If it was a small MW, yes. Pavlik isn't even a MW, he is at least a SMW.... Norris hit very hard, but not Julian Jackson hard, and Pavlik would simply absorb the shots on his way to pummeling Norris.
My admiration for Terry Norris has blinded me for a minute although the thought of him actually winning never crossed my mind. Im just wondering what his chances are. You're right though, this isn't a fair matchup and he would get knocked out and he wouldn't lose in any other way either. Thread closed.
Pavlik is a freak of nature for his ability to make 160 and not lose stamina. Besides, he has unreal mental strength. Not a perfect fighter, but very capable at always maximizing his strengths and forcing his gameplan. A fighter who could beat Pavlik would have t be a fighter who matches his physical toughness, mental strength and stamina and that is not Norris.
i like norris, and think he's quite underrated as an athlete. im leaning on a pavlik KO though due to terrible terry's terrible chin. simon brown knocked him down with a jab of all things. any punch from a large MW like pavlik would probably have very telling effects on norris.
