How does a rejuvinated Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym fare against the top super-bantams?

It's of no bother to me. A bit frustrating that most Irish posters don't seem to like me very much solely because of the stuff he comes out with but I can't do anything about that.:conf

I had been watching him long before he got to Dunne. It wasn't even his bet performance if I'm honest. I see where you're coming from but I think it's general consensus that he's one of the best at the weight, I think he's proved that. It's questionable whether he's at the pinnacle, yes, but I don't think many people say he is anymore.

He was far from handled. As I previously stated, he was(allegedly) very disrupted upon his arrival in Japan and it was an extremely close fight. As far as I know most had him winning it too.

Rejuvenated in a confidence sense. He's still pretty much the same fighter going by recent fights, he just has to hurry things up a bit, which I believe he's doing by not fighting complete no-marks.

 

Well, that lad gasman had a go over nothing before, about me trying to "fit it" apparently, although when he realised that he'd misquoted me he didn't seem so eager anymore though.

I suppose you're right though, apart from that. I'm just glad I have guys like you and Ed here who don't seem to be appalled when I don't rate an Irish fighters chances in a fight.:yep:good

 

If assurances were made I don't see why they would have to take it upon themselves to arrange alternative accomodation. They'd ventured to Japan before without any difficulties, this time shouldn't have been any exception. Of course, in the grand scheme of things it shouldn't have mattered. He should've beaten Lee no matter what, and I think he'd rectify that if they fought again.

 

It's hard to tell with Ramos so far. I haven't seen an awful lot of him, but what I have seen he's been hit and miss. He looked great against Heriberto Ruiz(who was, granted, past his best), Cuautehmoc Vargas and Alejandro Perez. But he didn't look too impressive against Alejandro Valdez in his last fight, who isn't all that good apart from making Fernando Montiel look like he was on the verge of being shot. It'll be interesting to see if he can put it all together against Shimoda.

Alright lads, thought I'd bump this rather than start a new thread. According to the Bangkok Post, because the 90th annual WBA convention will be held there in November, Poon has been told he'll be given a shot at his old title at the Imperial Queens Park Hotel during the convention. His promoter, Niwat Laosuwanwat, said the opponent(I'm assuming that means which WBA 'champion') will be confirmed 60 days before the meeting.

 

Former WBA super-bantamweight champion Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym has to wait at least until early next year to get a chance of a title shot.

The Thai (44-2, 30KOs) was expected to fight for the title in December but has been forced to wait after Akifumi Shimoda was dethroned by Ricos Ramos.

"With Shimoda's defeat, we do not have an option," said Poonsawat's manager Niwat Laosuwanwat. "It is a huge blow for us."

It was Shimoda's first title defence after beating compatriot Ryo Li Lee who won the title from Poonsawat in October.

According to Niwat, it is difficult to bring unbeaten Ramos (21-0, 11KOs) to defend the title in Thailand so he prefers to wait for a mandatory fight which is expected to come early next year.

Poonsawat is now ranked third with the WBA and should move up to second in the next rankings after Shimoda was knocked out.
