How does Alexander Povetkin hope to hurt Anthony Joshua, when his hardest punches seem to just bounced off Christian Hammer's body with 0 effect whatsoever?

Anthony Joshua is ASTRONOMICALLY and SIGNIFICANTLY more DURABLE, STRONGER AND POWERFUL than the pathetic Christian Hammer.

We all saw Povetkin land everything but the kitchen sink on Christian Hammer for 12 rounds. Maximum powered punch after maximum powered punch, flush on Hammer's body, chin, face and head and they appeared to have absolutely no effect on Hammer whatsoever. Almost to the point where Povetkin looked like he had the punching power of a little girly sissy that night.

This is a very important point because Christian Hammer has an EXTREMELY suspect chin, having been already stopped twice brutally prior to fighting Povetkin. Thus, Hammer arguably has a 'glass' chin. So Povetkin's difficulty in even hurting, never mind dropping, stopping or KO'ing Hammer puts huge question marks in regards to his punching power. Since Hammer isn't someone that is known to be very durable in the first place.

Did Christian Hammer expose and prove Alexander Povetkin as being 'FEATHER-FISTED'? Does that fight prove Povetkin is simply too feather fisted, weak and powerless to be able to even hurt, never mind KO, drop or stop Anthony Joshua? Does that fight prove that Povetkin lacks the necessary strength required physically in his fragile and weak body, to generate the necessary power required to hurt, never mind KO / drop / stop Anthony Joshua? Can Povetkin even hope to get Joshua's respect with his seemingly feather - fisted punches?

If the answer is yes to these questions, is it fair to now say that Povetkin has no chance of winning? Considering it'd be impossible for him to win a decision in UK, even if he does technically outpoint Joshua and deserve to win. But I doubt he even can currently outpoint Joshua legitimately anyway to begin with at this point in his career.

Povetkin v Hammer was an extremely homo sexual fight. They touched gloves after every punch ffs. Povetkin clearly held back against the man he loves.

You could also say the same thing about Deontay Wilder too. Wilder landed everything but the kitchen sink on Johann Duhaupas for 11 rounds, without even being able to drop Duhaupas. And Duhaupas is the same guy who was brutally put to sleep in the 6th round by a blown up, fat, chubby and pudgy light heavyweight who is arguably a feather fist. In other words, Duhaupas exposed Wilder as a GROSSLY and a DISGUSTINGLY overrated puncher in terms of power. What makes this worse was Duhaupas was literally coming forward, walking through multiple of Wilder's most powerful punches and didn't even go down once after 11 rounds of taking a career high number of punches from Wilder. And to make it even worse, this fight happened in Alabama in Wilder's hometown where he needed a questionable, standing TKO stoppage to win in a fight that was dead even prior to the farce stoppage.

You turned the table on the forum troll excellently there Sir. :pesas:

As far as this fight goes we have AJ fighting another past it HW, who will be dangerous for at least 6 rounds before no doubt shelling up and losing a predictable UD. History proves that Povetkin is a pragmnatist and will no go out on his sword if he cannot legally find a way inside to let rip.

We can predict the referee will not allow work on the inside and the judges will have a very AJ friendly view of the fight on the cards...Thats boxing according to that cockney spiv Hearn

Well younger doesnt mean better. In Wlads case he was definitely more capable even at 41 than he was ar 25. He knew how to defend himself. (and pace himself)

That type of boxing math doesnt hold up at all tbh. Povetkin hugged the fllor all night vs Wlad and he also got rocked hard by Price. Still doesnt mean that Joshua will stop him.

You answered your own question. All Povetkin hit was body because Hammer was tucked up into a shell all night long and didn't come to win like Joshua will be.
Hammer knew he'd be quickly turned over if he opened up and tried to win.

I strongly disagree there. Dont you think Wlad "learning to cheat"(which you know he learned more than to just cheat) isn't a form of resiliencey? He learned to overcome situations witch before would have been disasterous to him.
Wlad was most definitely a better defensive fighter than he was in his early years(cheating or not).
How come guys like Haye and Chagaev could not get to him but Purrity did?
    Wlad was just better.
Younger is younger. It doesnt mean that he was the better fighter.

Povetkin is old, so who knows. But he certainly is not feather fisted. His string of KO's after losing to Wladimir was quite thudding.

I don't want to hear about Christian Hammer unless he starts to use 'U Can't Touch This' as his ringwalk.

If he used that, Eddie and FW would both want him on any card to ramp up the crowd ala Sweet Caroline.

    He's definitely missing a trick.

It's not the same, Duhaupas was fighting on 5 day notice. Unless you assume training camp is unimportant and has no bearing in the outcome of a fight.

This. Hammer showed up to survive and get paid, since he only threw enough punches to keep Povetkin from running over him, but didn't do much else and kept his helmet on the whole fight.
