We all know Ali has one of the greatest resumes, and quite possibly THEE greatest resume in the HW division, but some of us more level-headed people know that that doesn't necessarily mean that Ali's the " greatest " when it comes to H2H, so..

H2H, how does everyones beloved Ali fair against the following..

    Riddick Bowe
    Evander Holyfield
Larry Holmes ( Ali being at his best, ofcourse )
    Lennox Lewis
    Michael Spinks
    Mike Tyson
    Vitali Klitschko
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Michael Moorer
    Ike Ibeabuchi
    David Tua
    Chris Byrd
    John Ruiz
    Tommy Morrison

ali is the greatest hvy weight imo, but i'm under no illusions that he does'nt lose to any of the names on the list.

from the list id pick these guys over ali h2h, ali is the greater than all though.

    Riddick Bowe
    Larry Holmes
    Lennox Lewis
    Vitali Klitschko
    Wladimir Klitschko
    Ike Ibeabuchi
    mike tyson

probably tua, but ali would probably be the favorite.

Tyson, Lewis and both Klitschko's have a good shot at beating him, the rest loses by probably UD.

D'Amato trained. Rooney kept him focused for a while nothing more. Mike doesn't need Rooney, what Mike needed was head movement. He stopped doing it at some point which made him easy to hit.

I can't see Riddick Bowe, Ike Ibeabuchi, or David Tua beating Muhammad Ali at all.

Bowe would have trouble with Ali's movement, speed, and ability to box from the outside. He didn't have the timing of Lennox Lewis or Wladimir Klitschko.

Ike Ibeabuchi is overrated when it comes to some fantasy matchups. He would have a hell of a time dealing with Ali's jab, speed, and movement. He couldn't close the gap as fast as Joe Frazier and he wasn't as good on the inside. Ali would have to be careful of the left hook, but I see him winning a UD (117-111).

David Tua always had problems with guys who had great jabs, defense, chin, and movement. He wouldn't be able to get in close to land his crushing shots against Ali as he didn't have much footspeed. He may catch Ali with a shot like Henry Cooper and drop him, but he would definitely not beat him. Ali UD (119-109)

You can make cases for Larry Holmes, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, and Vitali Klitschko though. Mike Tyson is another guy who you could make a case for when he was at his best.

At his best, Ali beats every one of them in my eyes. Though there would be several close fights. Lewis and Holmes stand the best chance of causing an upset.

He stopped Liston and Foreman, and either of them would have stopped Ike.

Nearly all (yes ALL ) of them COULD beat him.

But nary a one of them would be favourite to do so.

Louis, Holmes, Lewis, Foreman and Marciano would have had the best chance, IMO.
