George said on Letterman from back in the day
I think right after the Cooney fight that Mike
avoided him in public. I mean the story that
Dmato told Mike about Foreman beating all
swarmers ala Frazier would stick. Mike would
not take old Foreman lightly.Old Foreman could and
would hurt Mike when he came in but Mike would
then destroy George, I believe his body is
vulnerable and Mikes advantage in hand speed
and head movement would be too much. Old
George had all the heart in the world. Ill never
erase Holyfield Foreman form my dvr

    That's where I stopped.

If there was ever a guy not worth listening to regarding the truth in a situation, it was Don King... followed quickly by George Foreman.

Tyson makes a bobble doll head out him and a ref stops it just in time to save the burger eating franchise.

 At the time I was thinking a two but in retrospect I'm thinking more like 6,7...

Would *have* you mean? Yeah, he wins 10/10 against old Foreman, agreed.

    YES.

Wait...so Tyson and Moorer are what H2H same neighborhood? No. Completely different case in the most obvious way. Wasted sarcasm, sport.

  6. Foreman old or young KO's Midget Lisp.
Tyson was a 5 round KO artist. George was only stopped once ever in his career.
George had a great chin, good stamina and power from round 1-12. Tyson was a one punch stalker from round 5-12. George would survive the early attack and stop Tyson in round 7.
I love Mike but he cant beat any Foreman ever.
    Foreman TKO7 Tyson

  7. Not a chance. Foreman had more heart, more power, better chin etc
    No Tyson beats any Foreman.
No swarmer beats Foreman. Tyson knew it and D'amato knew it.
Prime Foreman kills him in 4. Old Foreman kills 7

  8. You're just ignoring the precedents man! No Tyson beats any Foreman.
The chin Foreman had was solid rock. He was only stopped once! Tyson is certainly not gonna KO George in the early rounds because of the great Foreman hin and Tyson wasn't gonna stop him late because Tyson didnt stop anyone late. Foreman would survive the early attack and stop Mike late. Prime Foreman kills Tyson inside of 4.

Please tell me when has a fighter actually survived Tyson's early onslaught and turned the tables around and beat him?

Foreman piggy-backed of Mike Tyson's name during his second career so that he can use the publicity to get handsomely rewarded for fighting a bunch of stiffs. When the contracts were in place Foreman suddenly has a problem with Don King. George only stepped it up when fought for title.

If Foreman makes it to the 7th round it would be a small miracle.

I have Tyson stopping him in 4 rounds.

This would have been an interesting fight. Or at least something we'd buy.

I don't care what anyone says, in my opinion Foreman would have at least a decent puncher's chance. He has a chance against anyone he can land on, and shorter come-forward fighters always did suit him.
    So ..... he'd have a chance.

I mean, I even thought Frank Bruno had a puncher's chance against Tyson, which he did.

Foreman had known Don King since the early 1970s, I'm not sure he "suddenly" had a problem with him.

During 1988 it still unclear as to how much control Don King would have over Tyson's career.
During 1989 and beyond, Bill Cayton still had a contract with Mike Tyson.
Many commentators wondered aloud how long it would take for Tyson and King to fall out.

So, it's not as if Foreman should have associated Tyson as Don King's property, especially not when he started his comeback.

Also, to be fair, Foreman DID want to fight for the title, but maybe not as soon as he boasted about. It's a classic build-up strategy.
And he made most of his publicity by himself, because of who he was, and because he'd fought Ali and Frazier, he didn't build himself up of "piggybacking Tyson", he just did what was normal and sensible, he talked to the media.

Then why did Foreman fight on the Tillman undercard? You dont think that was a buildup to a potential showdown with Tyson? Im very confident Arum had explained to George exactly how it would work if they did in fact "sign" to fight Tyson and Im also very confident George came back for the money, because he was close to being broke with a lot of dependent children.

From what I heard Foreman knew what was going on but refused to sign the deal when it came down to signing time. George was no dummy, he knew he could use Tyson's name to keep his relevant and boxing was still running through Tyson. He knew he couldnt compete with guys like Tyson, Ruddock, Lewis, Bowe Holyfield etc, because he was taking a beating by guys that were on a level below them. The only reason he took on Holyfield was because he didnt think he hit too hard. Realistically he couldnt even compete with a guy like Michael Moorer even though he knocked him out.

In 91 Foreman would have been knocked out by Tyson and it would have happened relatively quickly. All this stuff about a guy like Tyson being made for him is BS especially when we talk about the comeback version because really the best guy he could dominate and beat was Bert Cooper, and Cooper was no Tyson. He was just too slow and easy to hit and Foreman had and would show that he had a hard time defensively and took a real beating by a lot of guys who werent that good.

The only thing the Holyfield fight proved was that Foreman could be hit by 6 and 7 shot combinations and noone was able to take those kind of successive shots by Tyson.
