I like Fury, but he is going to be killed. He just doesn't have the chin to be in there with Wlad. A guy who hits the deck against Cunningham and Pajkick is not going to be able to stand up against one of the hardest hitters in the division's history.

Nor is his switch hitting gimmick going to save him. Wlad had fought more southpaws than any other heavyweight champ. All turning southpaw is going to do is leave fury open for the right. I know that Wlad has not used the right as much as he used to in his last few, but I am positive that he can conjure it if he wants to.

Fury hasn't got a prayer. So how exactly are people deluding themselves here?

He does not really have a chance the problem will start once Wlad connects flush on tyson

tyson HAS to stay away from the power shots and try to box him

    are anti-depressants which make you
feel optimistic even when you're falling
off a cliff to a certain death...

also makes you spend all your money

It's everytime Wlad fights a guy that's pretty good, guys here come out of the woodwork claiming that this is the guy to beat him. And afterwards call him a bum, because he has to be because he lost to Wlad.

Certainly with a fighter with a British passport in the mix, common sense gets trown out of the window and nonsensical reasons why he should win get repeated over and over again.

Wlad never fought a guy about as big as Fury... yes he has.
Wlad hasn't fought someone that came to win lately... yes he has.
Wlad won't be able to clinch Fury so he's in trouble... Have people ever seen how he solves that? You better fight a clinching Wlad, it hurts less.
Wlad's getting rattled by Fury's antics... No he isn't. Just irritated.
Wlad is feeling the pressure of the event.... seriously?
Wlad is clearly slipping and almost 40 years old... true!

And then forget the porblems Fury faces.
Fury has never fought anyone with a jab like Wlad.
Fury has never fought anyone with a punch like Wlad.
Fury is a sucker for the right hand, wich is Wlad's money punch.
Fury doesn't have the safety of a British referee in this fight.
Fury has never fought an even good big man in his career.
Fury is fighting abroad, and won't win on the cards when close.
Fury lacks the power that's needed to beat Wlad by KO.
Fury is facing by far the best opponent he ever faced or will face in his career. Huge step up from USS and Chisora.
Fury has shown to not take punches very well, but has nice recovery skills.

Those picking Fury to win are either British or Klitschko haters. Or likely both.

If they claim to not fit into those categories, then I would wager they have been incorrect in picking against Klitschko before.

Fury thinks he can win from the outside, jabbing with Wlad. I think Team Fury grossly overestimates Furys jab and his workrate.

Fury wasn't hurt for either of them knockdowns. Just cause you are knocked down doesn't mean you have a bad chin. Having a bad chin is when you get hurt by punches. Knockdowns can also come from being off balance or your feet going square. It doesn't mean you were hurt though. Fury just got up both times and continued with not a bother. Look at Marquez , he was put down loads of times. But he has never been stopped.

Based on what I read from others, you seem to be describing both "punch resistance" and "recovery." Punch resistance is used to describe getting hurt or not getting hurt from punches. Recovery describes how they fight and handle themselves after getting buzzed or chin checked. Usually "chin" as a measurement refers to staying on your feet when it gets checked.

Example: Marquez doesn't have a great chin. But he has great recovery as well as great punch resistance.

Cheers for the education mate ;). I always thought having a good chin ment you don't get hurt from punches.

fury is bigger and probably quicker than vlad, though vlad has fought some bigger opponents they've normally been statuesque.

I don't think furys taken his boxing / training at 100% to date, he'll be in prime shape for this one so think he has another level to step up too, whether that level is good enough to beat a 39 year old kiltscho is another matter however.

Wlad hit the deck against ....

    Steve Pannell
    Ross Purrity (LOST the fight)
    Corrie Sanders (LOST the fight)
    Lamon Brewster (LOST the fight)
    DeVaryl Williamson
    Sam Peter

.... some of those fights he suffered multiple knockdowns ...
.... and lots of us wrote him off because of that.
I'm not ready to write Fury off just yet.
