How does Boxrec put Dirrel above Froch?

An Abraham victory gives you a lot of boxrec points, but how do the sums on there add up?

    Bute is no.1
    Dirrel is 2
Froch - 3. Froch has beaten the new no.2 in his previous bout

Doesn't make sense to me, Abraham didn't even hold a title for him to win.

Trying to rank boxers is like trying to staple diarrhea to the wall.

Boxrec makes as good a bash at it as anyone. As the above poster said beating Abraham gets you A LOT of points. That's fair enough IMO. If Froch beats Kessler he'll probably take over the top spot.

Because he beat Abraham, who was ranked 1 by boxrec for whatever reason. Also the Froch fight was a SD so Froch because he was the favourite lost points and Dirrell gained points.

What Dirrell does after the Froch fight has no impact on Froch's ratings. Froch actually lost a few pts beating Dirrell on a SD because Dirrell had done fairly little as a pro up to then.
You can see how a boxers boxrec points evolved by going to a boxers record and clicking on "ratings on" in the bar just under "bouts" btw.

If you're trying to work out who the best is then ignore ANY rankings, they're all flawed.
