Leonard was quicker, hit a lot harder and was bigger.

Would be a tough night for Bud

Crawford was at a speed disadvantage vs Gamboa, Amir Khan, even Hank Lundy.......

Crawford beats speed with timing. His counter punching causes opponents bring a different approach to what they normally do to find success. We seen the obvious names like Porter, Kavaliauskas, Madrimov, etc.....be a different type of fighter vs Crawford than they were vs any other opponent because seeing fighters like Spence, Khan, Horn, etc.... attempt to do what they normally do and get washed quickly.

I do like the scenario, but in my opinion, of the 4 Kings that would be the biggest challenge to Crawford would be Hagler. He would present the mentality, footwork, size, and switching ability to give Crawford the most issues round to round.

Without reading through the thread I already predict that just about every comment is going to suggest that Crawford has no chance at beating Sugar Ray and/or isn't equipped to compete against him. Thus is why it's hard for me to take many opinions on this site seriously when it comes to boxing.

Crawford has every tool in his bag to compete vs any great in history. His IQ, stamina, strength, length, & mentality is that of the elites......Crawford vs any of the 4 Kings would be a damn good fight. I feel a fight vs Hagler would be the best matchup though

I doubt SRL stops Crawford in a 12 rounder. I'd be hard pressed to bet against SRL at 147 against anyone and I really didn't like him for 40 years. Crawford would probably show pretty well in defeat.

I believe the fight would be competitive and either one could win. I'm also convinced that at this point in Crawfords career if you don't think much of him now a win over Canelo won't do much to sway your opinion.

Someone who can beat Hearns at welterweight is extremely hard to beat at that weight.

Crawford would do well. The fight would be close and he would give Ray a lot of problems. Ray isn't a God and Crawford isn't the nonentity that some have chosen to portray him as. Both are world caliber fighters and two of the most elite and complete fighters of the modern era. A lot of folk are getting way too hung up on resume. Asking "who has Crawford beat?" is the wrong question, especially when you choose to nitpick and diminish any good win that is brought up. The better question is "how did Crawford beat the guys he has," and also "what problems would Crawford's style cause for Ray Leonard?" I mean, just look at how much trouble a well-schooled, physically strong southpaw technician like Ayub Kalule gave Leonard and tell me that "Leonard would embarrass and stop Crawford." It would be a close fight, both men are excellent talents and we're lucky to have tapes of both.

Nobody was happier than me that Bud won that fight but he would not beat Sugar Ray
