I think McGirt was an excellent choice for this fight.

I honestly thought that Dzinziruk would be even less competitive, but you could see a noticiable adjustment in Dziniziruk's game that I had not seen before, that I'm sure was the work of McGirt.

McGirt is very good at employing a slick defensive style to his fighters, and it's obvious that Macklin learned from McGirt and even transformed his style to try and counter and box Martinez rather than pressure him.

If he would have pressured Martinez straight up, he would have been a highlight reel knockout early.

    Uh...

Who the **** are you, and what are you talking about?

You should probably go back to MMA and watch two dudes ****in.

You don't have an eye for boxing. McGirt is a great trainer in my opinion.

He did a lot for Gatti. It's not Gatti's fault, that he ran into a prime Mayweather.

Look what he did to Macklin...

    Are you blind?

I don't think there is anybody who could have helped Gatti as well as McGirt in that fight.

I think if Gatti rushed Mayweather, he would have gotten even more tore up.

Boxing him was probably the best idea, but you're talking about one of the best fighters of all time in his prime against a Gatti that's been through wars and is the smaller man.

I don't think Roach could have done anything for him.

Who the **** are you tryin to talk to me with that bull****?

What the **** you know about boxing?

    You just start watching?

If you don't think McGirt is a good defensive trainer, how do you think he trains?

You think he tells his fighters to employ mindless pressure?

It was a good stoppage by the corner in tha Maclin Martinez fight. Martinez was fresh and Maclin faded, he was clearly behind on the scorecards after 2 knockdowns in the 11th andbusted up, no need to come out for the 12th in such a condition.

I'd love to see Buddy McGirt troll the **** out of one his fighters by throwing the towel in during the last ten seconds of round 12 despite his guy winning via whitewash.

McGirt was giving Macklin excellent advice - other than the 'you're winning the fight' comment. That was a bit f*cked up.

thats right he was actually giving good tactical advice which was working.

he had macklin work on having his hand out near his face to parry and made him work on the body jab a lot.
