I've never seen Joe fight, but will be watching the fight with Hopkins (biggest name Calzaghe's ever fought in my opinion). Everybody seems to equate Calzaghe with "high workrate". How does he compare to the king of workrate, Aaron Pryor?

not really where as aaron used to duck and weave and throw awkward shots and rely on reflexes and chin to slip and take the punches.

calzaghe is more concervative he has a high gaurd and originally was a puncher. but as he had brittle hands he has now perfected a very awkward boxer swarmer style.

they havbe goen in different directions. one was a boxer who had a high workrate the other had a high workrate that learnt to box

Calzaghe isnt near as good as Pryor.

Pryor was so good, he beat Hearns and was ducked by Sugar Ray Leonard.

Yeah, SRL didn't want to have anything to do with The Hawk. It's too bad that drugs prevented him from being even greater than he was.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The only other thing you needed to have the perfect comment was "Thread Closed."

Kudos, cuz you got that on your first post.

both are guys are awkward, unorthodox and have high punch outputs. aside from that, different styles altogether.

Thats an old myth. SRL was the welterweight champion and Pryor fought at 140 and didn't fight at 147 while Leonard was active. If Pryor was serious about fighting Leonard he should have taken on a couple of welterweight contenders first.

Other than workrate and tremendous chins...they really have nothing in common.

Sides Calzaghe doesn't have his own chant.
