What beat both Jacobs and Canelo was one simple thing: The Golovkin jab

How does Canelo win the second fight if he couldn't come up with a defense against the jab?

I just don't see Canelo winning at all, he only won 4 rounds the first go around and those were close rounds that could have gone either way.

All Canelo has to do is stand still more. GG's jab landed and did nothing. Canelo lumped his ass up and even hurt him to the body.

Yeah stand still and trade with a guy who has 90% KO ratio.

    Great plan.

Great plan? I rooted for Canelo. And nobody said stand still AND trade. Canelo landed his bombs and did damage. He can stay in front and jab more. Hell, he was faster than GG so he might be able to trade more too dafuq. I think that he can stop GG. In fact I'm predicting that he will tko GG.

There's no denying that Canelo has superb skills and toughness. The problem is he doesn't have a great gas tank, prior to this, he has been fighting guys smaller than him and didn't put enough pressure to make him uncomfortable.
GGG presence and toughness made him uncomfortable hence the offensive outburst exchange , normally took place only in the first minute of the rounds, which he won, before he takes a breather on the ropes.
I don't know if this can be fixed easily as some Canelo supporters here claimed.
Now, GGG took some punishment and clearly weary of Canelo speed advantage and punching power. The age and back to back tough fights could finally catch up to him.
I don't know who can improve more, I think we are heading to another competitive distance fight.

Unless GGG becomes shot overnight I cant see Canelo stopping him.

GGGs jab might just be the straw that breaks the Camels back

Canelo already outlanded Golovkin with the jab.

    Just ask Shadow111.

Canelo's jab is so fast and accurate people don't even see it landing!

This type of response is why I posted the timestamps, so anybody can go right to the time the punch landed and check for themselves to confirm that it landed. This way there's no unknowns, no mysterious numbers, you know exactly what punches I'm referring to.

El Pollo will use his wing punch, then he will use his pecker and peck Golovkin to the testicles and Tony Weeks will stop the fight! Hopkins let the cat out of the bag. The judges will be Tyrd, Tyrd and Tyrd, ref Testicle Weeks, cheerleader Bob Bennett and his corrupt commission................Oscar will wear his fishnets and be the cheerleader................El Pollo knows the judges are in his pocket, and now the referee...............he learned from SOB Ward how to cheat..............to the testicles...............I expect this to happen.........

There is a difference between standing still and trading and choosing to fight in the pocket more. Trinidad stood still and traded. Hopkins fought in the pocket.

In the first fight what shocked me most was that Canelo was able to jab with Golovkin. The jab should really be key in the rematch. Golovkin of course has a good, strong jab, but his attack also really depends on it. If Canelo by positioning himself well and closer can land his jab he'll be able to prevent Golovkin from using his jab to effectively set up his attack. Canelo won't take away Golovkin's jab by only trying to move and right hand counter, he'll need his own jab. And anyone who thinks Canelo doesn't have a damn good jab didn't take their GGG-tinted glasses off watching the first fight.

I think based off Canelos history of improvement in recent years along with in ring experience, will lead to a better showing and a decisive win in the rematch. Whether you wanna call it slippage or competition GGG has look as good as he's going to be, so i don't think many changes will come from him but maybe start faster which might not be the best plan with Alvarez's speed advantage early on. Either way should be a good fight
