That fight was over 7 years ago. It's a different world now and it's certainly a different Canelo.

I don't remember Hearns landing anything like the right hand he landed on Duran. He didn't have the room and leverage.

I don’t understand the point tbh.

I’m almost certain Hagler could soak up anything Alvarez could dish out and return with interest.

    I'd take Sibson,Lee,Briscoe, Mugabi, Hearns,Roldan,Obeijemas,Hart, Canelo's power.
(Not claiming they were better fighters,so please....) Canelo's power comes from being
allowed to come in much heavier than the weight class he supposed to be fighting at.
Also, competition differences. It's much easier to get a gaudy ko percentage fighting
    weaker competition.
I always fall back on the Jaime Garza situation to prove this. Garza was 40 and 0
with 40 ko's at one point of his career , but the minute his competition got better, that
percentage came down substantially, and with losses I will also add.

Almost as irritating as Richard telling us the Day, month and year of every single fight that gets discussed on here......we know the dates!.

Some people have far too much time on their hands.

I think a few of Hagler's opponents hit harder; Hearns, Mugabi, Hart, among maybe some others. But then again, Canelo was a boiled-down bigger guy, so the sheer weight has to come into play. However, a really devastating middleweight puncher is going to smash Cotto, and Canelo failed to do that - and never had Jacobs in any real trouble. Canelo is more explosive, physically strong, and fast-twiched than super heavy-handed.

Wait what? Hagler fought Hearns?? I need to see that before I move back to my correct dimension. Hearns is gonna blow him away ... levels ... :deal:

if Hagler gets cut and/or loses to a blown up welter like Hearns or Ray it will just show he was not really a very good MW!

Canelo also started punching harder after his first fight v GGG.

Hearns was something else and looked great in the Hagler fight but after that his record at 160 was very patchy, Canelo also looks far better at 168 than Hearns did v Ray and Kinchen.
