It's an interesting question. Clottey doesn't appear to be spectacular in any way, but he just keeps coming and dishing it out, although not on the level of Margarito. Sometimes he stops punching a bit too long, but when he does punch it's pretty effective.

The question is, how would he do with a good boxer who moves in an out really well? I suspect it might get ugly for him once someone figures out his (straightforward) style. Mosely probably would do that (but is there enough in the tank?), Berto is perhaps a bit too green yet but would in the future.

Cotto would be interesting depending on his mental state. If they stood and banged it could be rough on both men to be honest. If Cotto boxed he would probably win.

I don't see anyone outtoughing Margarito right now, it would probably be a close UD for Tony.

I think he would be a tough matchup for any of them including Margarito and Williams. However, what I didn't like tonight was how he was just taking shots from Judah without answering. If that was part of the game plan to let Judah punch himself out or knowin he could take his punches, then it won't be much of a concern. However, I would be wary of the stamina and workrate of Margo and the power Cotto and Williams bring. He called out Berto and he also said that no one is boxing life hurts him. I guess the next fight could be against the WBA champ or the WBC champ. I think he beats anybody, and possibly maybe Margo and Williams.

So with his calling outs and what the fans want to see, he could be against Margo, Williams, or Berto. They should just have a welterweight unification tournament already.

    Margarito and Williams roll Clottey.

Not sure about Berto, haven't seen him fight.

Clottey is not active enough, does not throw enough punches. It's no wonder Margarito set a CompuBox record against him.

He's tough, has good defense and a good chin, but he is not as good as I thought he was based on tonight's performance.

Cotto UD. I'm not sure Clottey could hurt Cotto, and Cotto is the better boxer, especially offensively.

I was actually more impressed by Clottey in his loss to Margo than I was tonight.

Clottey always fights at a slow pace especially after the first few rounds. I think squeezing down to 147 has affected his stamina hence the **** workrate he has displayed in recent fights. Any big welter with a high workrate will just out-throw him and win on sheer aggression. Granted, his hands are quick but they do not possess any real concussive power. He couldn't even KO Corrales moving up two weight classes and tonight may have been his best "win" in his career which is not saying a lot.
