How does Clottey rank against Mayweather's WW opponents

What does that say about Ortiz, Maidana, or Guerrero?

 

So Judah wasnt winning in the early rounds? Did you watch that fight? A decline Judah I might add vs clottey. And I just said Judah got tired and got his ass whooped by clottey.

 

Maidana would have beat Clottey. If freaking Baldomir can give Clottey big problems which baldomir don't have a punch? Imagine what maidana would do to clottey?

 

It says they are more accomplished in a few fights at 147, than Clottey was in his entire career at 147. And I'm not claiming these 3 are world beaters/#1 contenders at 147, but they have done more than Clottey ever did in his entire career at 147.

Clottey is better in terms of being an "in the ring threat" than most of Floyd's Welterweight opposition. His level of "accomplishment" compared to that opposition is debatable. I personally give Clottey more credit for questionable losses to Margarito and Cotto over "big" wins against the likes of Berto(Ortiz, Guerrero) and Broner(Maidana) as examples.

 

Anybody with a brain would say Margarito clearly beat Clottey in a close fight which it's not questionable. Questionable was vs Cotto even though clottey fail to win the 2 or 3 last rounds which he was sleep walking.

 

For one thing, it was a BS DQ stoppage, which Clottey was winning. Another thing, Baldomir beat Judah, so how much does Judah suck?

And we don't know for certain that Maidana would beat Clottey. Clottey beat Mundine who is a better fighter than Maidana. Are you forgetting Maidana getting shut out by Alexander? Or losing to Kotelnik?

Actually I would consider Clottey to be what Maidana was at 140lb. People have short term memory in boxing, a few years ago Maidana was seen as simply brawler with a big punch...but not a true champ. Clottey was ranked pretty high when he fought Pac, but was seen as a step below the Elite Level.

 

Maidana lost to Kotelnik in a very close fight that could go either way. Maidana lost to Alexander when Alexander was clinching way too much and it was before maidana got a real trainer in Garcia.

 

Excuses my friend. You sound like every other whiny Mayweather fan.

 

Maidana still is a brawler with a big punch. Clottey can't even claim that because he isn't a puncher. He is actually more skilled than Maidana.
