Ortiz knocked down or out every opponent he ever fought but maidana. We know him as an idiot now but at one point he was a very formidable opponent.

He couldn't be the favorite in a fight. When he's the favorite he melts down. When he's the under dog he thrives. Vs Clottey I think he would be the under dog.

Id feel confident in Clottey beating Ortiz. Too durable, too heavy handed, too strong. Ortiz would do well for 4 rounds, Clottey would start to land... and start getting closer and closer, landing choppy powerful short punches, and Ortiz would start to unravel til hes in retreat in the later rounds. Ortiz doesn't have the defense, strength, skills or stability for Clottey, imo.

Trust me, I think Ortiz is a talented and dangerous fighter, I actually really respect his ring ability.... but Clottey is all wrong for him, just imo.

    * He knocked Maidana down too. He knocked down every opponent (practically) up until Mayweather.

I'd take the Clottey from the Pacquaio fight over the Mosley from the Mayweather/Pacquaio fights. It wouldn't be a great fight since both guys would be low volume at that point but i think Clottey would come on stronger down the stretch.

Mosley from 2000 though? I think he would beat Clottey fairly convincingly.

    Clottey already beat Judah up.

Ortiz is too much of a mental midget, I think once he didn't get Clottey out of there he would panic (like he usually did).

Guerrero? I mean he could maybe outwork Clottey but it is tough to really say.

Cotto-Clottey was a close fight, really the KD in the 1st was the difference maker.

JMM? I think at WW he would lose to Clottey. He struggled with lesser fighters like Juan Diaz and Katsidis.

yeah so down or out is correct...

i'll say this. If ortiz is the favorite he would lose. If he was the under dog he would win. That simple. He doesn't mentally handle being the favorite well

Better as in tougher to beat than Mayweathers' opponents at the time he fought them, better as in better career on a whole, or better as in more relevant victory than Mayweather opponents at the time he fought them?

Prime undefeated Hatton, and prime Ortiz would eat Clottey alive. People underestimate Ortiz, the guy had good speed, and power, it's unfortunate that guys that Mayweather stops basically have their careers ended after.

Thought it was a robbery? That implies to me it wasn't a close fight. :hi:

Seriously man you a better than that don't go to his level.

Both hatton and Ortiz would lose to Clottey for me as much as a hate the OP he is kind of right.

But clottey is no killer LOL

I'm not going to that level. Ortiz is extremely underrated in his prime. People forget how well he looked up to the Floyd fight, they only remember the Lopez, and Collazo knock outs. Also I see prime Hatton tearing Clottey a new a-hole. Don't overrate Clottey, he wasn't all that.

I always use to think Pac fans were crazy man:lol:

Hatton at 147 would get most likely stopped by clottey you do understand by you saying hatton tearing clottey you basically saying hatton would do the same with cotto, toni ,pac?

Ortiz wouldn't do any better than Pac,Cotto,Toni(he doesn't have the heart those guys have) he would do worse and get beaten up badly most likely again stopped like judah.

I am not overrating him i even said he was no killer i am just saying both hatton and ortiz would get stopped by him same way cotto would stop them.

Let me educate you a bit. First it's "used" to, not use to. I see so many idiots on this forum making this error. Secondly Hatton would lose to Cotto, but styles make fights. Prime Hatton would most likely beat the Marg Pac fought, but not the Marg in Cotto 1 where he used hand warps. What makes you think Clottey would stop Ortiz, and Hatton? Are you a new fan? Who has he stopped beside Judah? There's a higher chance he could stop Ortiz, but who has a prime Hatton been stopped by?
