I was watching this study of how Mike outclassed Watson and wondered why Eubank didn`t use the same tactics and struggled so badly v Watson in their bouts, was McCallum a cut above Eubank?

Yes, I believe McCallum was simply a better fighter than Eubank.

McCallum was a level above, Benn, Eubank & Watson.

Eubank did not possess the ability to do to Watson what McCallum did. Chris Sr knew his limitations & didn't want to go anywhere near the likes of McCallum or Toney.

McCallum had an easier time with Watson.

Eubank had an easier time with Watson than even McCallum did that rusty Watson, in their first fight until Eubank ran out strength from the weight-making; in the second fight Watson was far beyond what we'd seen from him before. Instead of rushing his work and falling short as he did in the McCallum fight, he closed the gap further and shortened up his rights that tragic night.

I do feel Eubank got it all wrong that night (second) though, not throwing jabs or body shots, just loading up combinations and running out of steam as Watson bulldozed through!

Well McCallum did better if this is the only question. But to me Watson had also improved since this fight. Watson vs McCallum was Watson’s first foray on the global scale. He performed well and improved imo based on this fight.

Watson was also extremely rusty. The fight was originally set for Nov '89 headlining the Nelson-McDonnell card, but Watson broke his nose in his last round of sparring. McCallum then had a perfect warm-up fight with Steve Collins so he came in nice and fresh.

The Watson who fought Don Lee would've landed even more right hands on McCallum. He couldn't touch Eubank with it until the last few rounds when Eubank was completely dehydrated from the weight-making (20lbs in 4 days with no rehydration - same-day weigh-in)

Eubank was far easier to hit than McCallum.

That`s how McCallum beat Watson, he knew how to work the body.

Yet Watson couldn't hit him til Eubank ran out of strength? He hit Mike M with a lot of right hands in the first four or five.

He landed one right hand in the first five rounds, that long one in the third that Eubank took smiling while crouched posing.

After the 5th, Eubank was done.

Neither were easy to hit. McCallum with his parrying, sliding and countering to the body and Chris with his cat-like reflexes and being slightly out of range. You grossly exaggerate in all your posts, such as calling Tyson, Lewis and Bowe 'awful' and 'dreadful

You're either an out and out troll or autistic
