I know Floyd is not a true welterweight, but he has looked very good at the weight, albeit against less than "great" competition. Any thoughts on how he does against these former welterweight champs?

    Ray Leonard
    Tommy Hearns
    Wilfred Benitez
    Roberto Duran
    Marlon Starling
    Donald Curry
    Ike Quartey
    Shane Mosley
    Vernon Forrest
    Felix Trinidad

I don't think Floyd would even want to leave the dressing room against Tommy Hearns!

He beats the majority of them except for maybe SRL and Hearns. And even thats debatable. Yes, he IS that good!

I'd take Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Benitez, and Forrest over him. Curry and Mosley are interesting matchups and two that I cannot make a solid pick on. Quartey is another good one.

I'd confidently pick him over Starling

Man, I don't know who would have won, but a fight between prime SRL and Floyd would be ridiculously good. If only.

You'd have to go with Leonard in that matchup. He was arguably just as fast, if not faster. Strength-wise, he had a big advantage too. Leonard had the jab to trouble Floyd. He put his punches together much better at 147 and would catch Floyd more than anybody has in the past. Floyd would get seriously outworked. Plus Leonard had the power to hurt him. Floyd cannot outbox Leonard or potshot him. And he wouldn't have much success pressuring him either.

I'd say Leonard wins a wide decision

He wins all of them, except SRL and maybe Hearns.

For what it's worth, Leonard did get hit a lot more than Floyd does. But SRL had much more knock out power and is bigger than Floyd. Either way, it would still be pretty damn entertaining to watch. I can't see how Floyd would overcome the Hearns height/reach/power advantage. The only way SRL was able to do it was to wear Hearns down over the long haul and hit him with a big closing shot. Floyd doesn't have anywhere near that kind of power.
