I agree and think GGG won the 1st fight but crying about it isn't going to change anything, Ken Norton should of beat Ali 3-0 or at least 2-1. Money fighter got the benefit of the doubt in a fight for the 344322344235235th time in boxing, it happens.

No journeyman is giving GGG, Charlo and Jacobs fights like Sergiy did. And no journeyman is going to the world finals in any amatyeur tourney. For every great amateur who didn't turn out well as a pro, there's dozens who did. 99/100 a great amateur is a good professional.

I mean, they're kind of in the same tier of fighter, both even had close fights with Jacobs although I thought Rosado won their exchange.

Jacobs was clearly debilitated though at that point even though it wasnt long after the other.
    He clearly fell off.

He's a glorified gatekeeper bro, not even sure why we're arguing about this. That's literally what he is.

He was one of the elites of the division and no less than top three when he fought GGG. That's an elite fighter, not a gatekeeper.

I get that you're bias, but you don't seem like an idiot. Stop pretending.

Stop it he wasn't top 3, he wasn't above Alvarez, Jacobs, GGG, Demetrius Andrade or Charlo, he was in the top 10 due to how bad the MW division has become over the years. After the Jacobs fight, that's EXACTLY what Sergiy became, a gatekeeper, I still don't know why you're trying to deny this. If you didn't think so then then it certainly is so now. You think Sergiy at 36 has aspirations to be world champ? He's gonna be fed to someone like Munguia next, that's what gatekeepers do, test named fighters.

Also what am I biased about? Learn the definition of being biased, I don't hate GGG, I hate how his career panned out. He could of done so much more but wasted it fighting subpar competition.

GGG is a first ballot HOF and certainly top in the 10 MW all time. How many defences did he have? 20 or so?
Fought everyone...some here are suggesting that he ducked Felix Sturm...please, just stop.

No matter what BoxRec shows, 98% of the boxing world knows he defeated Canelo the first time. That's how it will go
down in the history books. He beat, and beat up, everyone they put in front of him. It's not his fault Sugar Ray Robinson,
Jake LaMotta and Hagler are dead. Staying on top at the age of 40 is also amazing, although Father Time has
    touched him now.

The Ring had him no 4.
    TRBB had him no 3.
But what do they know right?

Bro you list 1 good name and 1 decent name and the rest is a bunch of nobodies, and everybody from 147-HW would fight Canelo everybody wants the money man that’s not impressive.
Dervy is trash and is in the middle of a 3/4 fight losing streak, Lemuix again trash won a vacant title never defended it never beat anybody, Jacobs is decent and he went 50/50 with Jacobs with some ppl thinking he lost.

GGG resume not even as good as Adrain Broner, which is saying something.

This is the same fighter who claimed fighting willie Monroe is the same as fighting Lara as a way to avoid him! GGG has never actively tried to make any type of good fight all this avoid talk is bs every great fighter has had to make some type of concession to get to the top if you’re unwilling to negotiate or take a risk that is on YOU.
Martinez is a better MW champ than GGG if we’re being real there where plenty of fights to be made for GGG that are vastly better than what he’s done he just thought he was a big dog and played himself. It’s not just him it’s most these fighters nowadays they win these Vacant JV titles and don’t even be the real champ never make any real effort to fight a good fight unless they overpaid for the L.

Hell I’m a Canelo fan I don’t don’t prop up the WBA title he won from Feilding because that’s a fake belt and he wasn’t no real champ, look at how yall try to inflate this man career talking about MW defenses when he only got 9 fr and make all kinds of excuses.

I'm so sick of the "what you did in the ammy's don't matter, bro!" narrative that gets pushed around, often by fighters who got utterly spanked in the amateurs and try to downplay it.

You have any documented proof he never actively wanted to make them?
Because we know several middleweights who avoided him.

Dude in the lead up to Cotto-Canelo when they asked Cotto about GGG he said straight up he negotiated with GGG before Canelo and offered him a fight at 158 and GGG said no, and if he would have agreed they would have fought instead of the Canelo fight. This was AFTER the 154-68 comment by GGG
