I really believe this fight will be made.

I wish to dicuss the keys of victory for this fight.

How do you guys think Hatton will cope with the size and more importantly the reach disparity? (i think the handspeed and reach combo is going to be the downfall for hatton.)

Don't forget Hatton is pretty fast as well. He's going to have to the stay on the inside, cut off the ring and go to the body. Fortunately for him, this is exactly his style, and that's bad for Mayweather.

Hatton doesn't fight at range, so it shouldn't be a disadvantage. If Joe Frazier fought Nikolai Valuev, do you think Frazier would be kept at range? Of course not. Henry Armstrong could fight Mark Breland, but he's still be within a punching distance at all times.

Height and reach is only an advantage if the styles dictate it to be. Hatton being smaller won't mean a thing against Floyd.

He would have to be willing to take 3 to land one and unfortunatly he woul dhave to do some holding. WHen he gets inside he would have to grapple and stay in there

How to beat height and reach:

    1. Timing... okay Floyd has good reflexes, so thats out.

    2. Activity...bingo! The swarmer can beat the boxer. Just keep chasing and keep throwing your hands. Floyd will keep running away and maybe you get a decision based on agression or a possibly stoppage if a good shot gets trhough. (this is the best bet, but Floyd is really good at running, so even with this strategy, Hatton is an underdog)

Well hatton needs non stop pressure. Also don't underestimate his speed, in fact his manager hobson has already said that if they fight was at 147 the might bring ricky in light so as not to compromise his speed depending on how his body develops over a full training camp for 147. In short Hattons speed is incredibly underrated as is his subtle head movement. He can get on the inside and slow down PBF by getting to his body. (As regards the last part there I said that in 2005 and my opinion hasn't changed).

Bodyshots and pressure. He'll do fine taking Floyd's shots and all but its his skin that I'm worried about. I'd like to see his skin hold up for 12 rounds but I don't see Ricky scoring enough points in the process.

    Floyd wins.

    Thanks for the reply.

How is he going to stay on the inside of a fighter who is 2 inches taller, has about an 8' reach advantage has faster hands and faster feet. hatton can't just jump in on mayweather, he is going to have to work his way in but i don't believe he has the duran type skill it would take for the smaller man to beat PBF.

Also at 147 in vegas the will be wearinf 10 ounce gloves, how do u think this will affect the outcome?

IMO they are very physically similar. I dont think there will be any size advantage whatsoever.

So you feel Hatton will be able to jump in to punching distance for him at anytime?
