How does it affect your opinion of a fighter when he can't admit a loss?

    Horrible examples in this thread.

    Diaz/Malinaggi I and Froch/Kessler

were both close fights that could of been scored for the other fighter.

they were close, but my deal with froch is because he didnt give kessler much credit at all. a fight that close should have brought mutual respect.

If it's a genuine close fight, then I don't mind a fighter claiming he won (e.g JMM).

But where it's like Froch vs Kessler, then yes my respect goes out the window. He's complaining of the exact same thing he benefited from in his fight with Dirrell. I hope King Arthur smashes him to pieces.

Another one I'd mention would be Barrera. After getting smacked around by Pacquiao, he lived off the 'disrupted training camp' excuse.

in a close fight in hostile territory i can understand it

diaz-malignaggi wasn't close and was in diaz's backyard. fine, the decision was bought. but diaz wouldn't give paulie ANY credit. it was sad

diaz malignaggi 1 was not close. ****, the second fight was closer. if you loved diaz (which i did) you could justify 4 rounds. if you didn't love him, he won 2

yup, the excuses get me to. everyone had a ****ing medical condition, injury, herpes, ninja attack, etc. AFTER the loss. going in though, they are always 100%...funny that

I don't wanna see a fighter saying "I lost because I'll never be as good as him" which is what boxing fans seem to think the fighters should do.

true it would sound kinda *****

but arreola said "yeah, i lost tonight. i look like shrek" when he lost to adamek (good fight to). there are classy ways to do it without sounding like a weak sister

Me too I'm a fan of his but his excuses left a bitter taste in my mouth. I think fighters like that feel like they never can lose so when it happens they don't know how to respond to it. I admit my mistakes so I promise y'all I won't make excuses if I lose. When I lose in anything all I do is admit that I lost to a better person & do some friendly trashtalking. Nothing serious.

a bit off topic, but one of the worst post fight interviews i seen recently, was sergio fukin mora

"no disrespect to forrest, cos he's dead, but i really wanted to hurt him. i was beating shane easy but i stepped off cos i didnt wanna hurt him. vernon tho, i wanted to hurt him"

sounded like an absolute knobhead to me.

this is interesting, cos i saw a george foreman documentary a few years ago. and he said he broke his hand in near enough every training camp, but his trainer always told him to deny otherwise the fight would get called off. so he always told the doc he was 100% fine, even when he wasnt.

:good I agree, and this was right after Mosley (whom I believe should of won) was a true sport in his interview giving Mora credit that was undeserved.

that makes sense and i'm sure a ton of injuries occur all the time. i've broken my hand 4 times and a stiff fart will likely shatter it. but if i hear another "back spasm", "irritable bowel" or ****ing "boogy woogy fever" kind of excuse after a fight i'll puke.

if you can't handle a little pain and injury and fight through it to win, go play ****ing basketball. if you're hurt, the other guy was probably hurt in training to.
