A Dempsey with modern training methods and his pre-getting rich and comfortable hunger and ferocity would be hell on wheels and would be very competitive against everyone he'd face in the 1970s except maybe Ali who would be too big and fast and Foreman who would be too big. Something tells me he would give Frazier issues although I'd still pick Frazier if someone put a gun to my head.

He would beat the living ^&&(*^*^*(&%&^_()*)(*)**)* out of the painfully overrated here journeyman Jimmy Young inside two rounds.

Dempsey after he got rich and comfortable lost something. If he doesn't have that hunger and ferocity in the 1970s, he's not going to do as well.

I have Dempsey right outside of my top 10 all time.

Dempsey's combination of power, speed, and ferocity would serve him well, imo.Ali and Foreman would be mighty tasks to overcome, but he would take care of the majority of the contenders of that era, imo.

If they can navigate him away from from pre 1974 Ali and 1978 Holmes, he becomes champ, depending on how many chances he gets against Foreman, which is a 50/50 match up. 1970 Frazier is also a problem though.
